If people think the company is no longer great and that the leaders are overpaid lemmings, why do they stay? Why don’t they look for other jobs where they would be treated better, make more money, get more vacation, bigger bonuses and richer benefits? The company would suffer by losing good people. They would have to hire new employees and train them. That would be tough. But I guess that is what is deserved by being so bad to loyal employees. I would like to hear from someone who does not like the company as to why they have not left yet. Or are some of you employees looking elsewhere?

Let us clarify the PTO situation. It you have time saved up, you can only carry over 40 hours. So yes, you must use all but 40 hours before year end, or sell back some of it. That is your choice. But come January 1 you will also have eight diversity days that you can use immediately. That is another 64 hours up front. So, a total of 104 hours you can take from January 1. That is two weeks and three days. If you had to take leave because of a medical issue, you would only use 40 hours before short term disability kicks in. You would not have to use up the PTO and the diversity days before you can tap short term disability. Or let us say you are going to take a major vacation. Not everyone thinks they can take off a lot of time at once. But let’s say you are going to another country or otherwise taking a long break. You can take all of the diversity days and the 40 hours of PTO up front. That is enough to take 2 1/2 weeks of vacation, right up front. It seems to me that the concern for some employees is that they want to keep as much PTO as they can banked up so that if they leave the company they will get a larger vacation payout when they leave. Under the new system, if someone leaves the company earlier in the year they will not receive as large a PTO payout as they would have in the past. Is this what some people who have been with the company a long time are most upset about?

They aren't doing us any favors. What would they do if the employees couldn't work from home? How much do you think is saved on electricity, water, cleaning, security, etc. The little compensation we get for working from.home is nothing compared to what is saved. Year after year our benefits are decreased. When was the last time we had an increase in any benefits? There was a time when the employees were valued, when HCSC was one of the best places to work, that time has passed.

The HCSC board runs the company. HCSC leadership are highly paid lemmings. Their compensation is obnoxiously high, sickening actually.

Go to other companies. See if you get the same time off, the bonuses, the pension and the health insurance. The company has been supportive through the crazy year. We had extra payments and other support programs. We have worked from home and been safer. It is a blessing to be employed. Many people with less would take our places in a heartbeat. Now, when does the real business begin?

the biggest PTO change no one asked for at all is the 40 hour max carryover starting 2022. Hope no one has any plans of getting sick for more than a week next year.
