Thread regarding USAA layoffs

Dirty Secret At USAA

There are lots of prior service folks at USAA. If you look around at the parking lot when a lot of vehicles are there, you will see plenty of DV plates. Lots of USAA employees are receiving big VA disability checks. I know because I am one of those folks. My rating is 100% Total and Permanent. I receive $3900/month+ tax-free and that will increase to $4200/month tax-free next year. Not everyone is as lucky as me, but lots of prior service folks are receiving money for 80% or 90% disability and are still banking money.

The bottom line is that folks like myself don't care if we get laid off. We will still do just fine and will be happy to laugh at Wayne and his lackeys as we cash our severance checks. Hahahahahahaha

How is this a dirty secret? It's public information. Your title implies Service Connected Vets are all going to leave and say fu-k you to USAA. While many might do that , You don't speak for me and everyone else with a service connected disability.

While I myself don't like what's going on with leadership and how things are being handled at USAA. OP is making an assumption of how all service connected veterans finances look and implying what they may or may not do with it.

That's just not in line with the problems at USAA right now

How does this equate to "dirty little secret" if a person gets VA disability then that is there entitlement and has no bearing if they have a full time job collecting more money that they are legally able to do. So what is your point? I am 100%P&T and also work a full time $65k a year job so altogether I bring in $108k. And????? Pointless post!!!

I'm sure that individual is just a hypocrite who will never admit that they are receiving VA disability checks. This individual would rather just call injured and sick veterans names like "dirtbags".

If you would like to know the current numbers, here is a sample of percentage ratings which don't include dependents (all monthly amounts tax-free) :

60% - $1,319.65
70% - $1,663.06
80% - $1,933.15
90% - $2,172.39
100% - $3,621.95

So, OP is probably right. Lots of USAA employees are pulling down good sums od money tax-free to pay significant bills like mortgages. More power to all of our veterans. If I had that type of additional revenue, I would just quit USAA and find a better company to build a career at.

A lot of employee vets are frustrated. There are no more senior military leaders within the upper echelon of USAA. Sure the company says they know what it means to serve, but nowadays so does every other financial services company. Until we get back to our roots and put true military leaders back in Executive Council, then we're just another company giving lip service to our vets.

I enjoy the thought of Wayne and these other empty-suit execs paying me out of their tax dollars every month.
