Thread regarding Citigroup Inc. / Citibank / Citi layoffs

The Citi sacrifice.

Working sick doesn’t prove dedication, it proves a broken culture. If your rest feels like weakness, your workplace is draining you. In the right culture, rest is strength. Wellness isn’t just allowed, its what keeps you at your best. You, as an employee, deserve to be valued, not sacrificed. I know that this goes against the Citi norm but what’s the payout for selling off slices of your life and soul? Does that 1% raise, 2% bonus make up for it? Is it worth it? If it’s done under the guise of “congratulations, you get to keep your job”, then its time to start looking elsewhere.

Employers care only about the bottom line, profits and the shareholders, Not about any employees.

Unless you have a contract, all states except Montana, are at will employment.

Any employee without a contract can be terminated at any time and without notice as long as the reason is legal.

That is how employment works in the US. That is the risk all non union employees face without a contract.
Look at All of the industries that have Unions (manufacturing, automotive, transportation, education, plumbing, welding, actors/actresses, movie/tv directors, etc.) and you'll see and read about how difficult it is to Fire even problem employees, the Unions themselves would rather see their @SSES fired and gone, but the Union is legal obligated to defend or provide lawyers for the problem employees.

This is why Banking and Financial Services employees NEED and MUST UNIONIZE !!!

For me, the working until you drop or working even though you’re sick……those days are over with, long gone never to return again. Citi doesn’t pay me enough to sacrifice my health all for the glory of making the stock price move a quarter of a point so that Jane can be rewarded for a job well done with money while the rest of us get nothing.
All of it wrapped up with the implied message of “Don’t complain about no comps, just be glad you have a job. By the way Jane thanks you for your hard work so that she can get a huge bonus.”

For the posters who've asked the oblivious question over and over again, "How can you get training if Citi doesn't want to pay for it so that you can improve your career ?" This is why Citi is a Dysfunctional Freak Show that took the most U.S. Government Bailout Money out of all the banks (US$35 Billion) in 2008 and is Still Dysfunctional because it has Low Caliber employees who can Not figure this question out.

As yourselves, if you want or need a car, but your parents, spouse, significant other, whomever, does Not want to buy you a car, what would you do ???

Post ID: @bh+1jjz47ha8 How dare you insult $hittybank! The Anti-$hittybank Gest@po is patrolling and policing this site and is keeping/counting score!

He's valiantly protecting the honour (doesn't exist) of $hittybank!
The sociopath created Not one, but 2 Anti-$hittybank Threads specifically targeting and addressing the $hitty Guy!

What this Sociopath Anti-$hittybank Gest@po Thought Pol!ce doesn't realize is that he too is just an expense, a dispensible fungible widget that $hittybank can Fire at anytime even if he loves Big Brother $hittybank. (Just in time for Valentine's Day)

Yet, he presses on gallantly defending $hittybank and implements Orwellian surveillance of Anti-$hittybank thoughtcrime! ROTFLMFAOFFLOLOLOL!!!

What’s embarrassing about the 2008 Bailout was that $hittybank took the most money in order to survive out of all of the Banks. by Anonymous
Post ID: @kh+1jj815p6c

Yeah, without the 2008 Hundreds of US$ Billions Bailout $hittybank would NOT exist today. It was and is too big to fail and jail even after helping to cause the Mortgage Crisis!!!

In 2008, Citigroup received the largest bailout of any U.S. bank as part of the Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP). The bailout included direct investments and guarantees of loans and securities.
What was the bailout?

The government invested around $20 billion in Citigroup

The government guaranteed around $306 billion in Citigroup's loans and securities
The Treasury bought $25 billion of Citigroup assets on October 14, 2008
The government provided other assistance to Citigroup.

What was the impact on Citigroup?

Citigroup laid off 75,000 people, which was a quarter of its workforce
Citigroup's share price dropped from over $500 in 2007 to less than $1 in 2009.

OP $hittybank is NOT worth the sacrifice. As others posted, the same Bull$hit, shenanigans, mind games and power struggles happen in other companies including $hittybank's envied Competitors GS, JP, BofA, Morgan etc..

The difference between the Real Banks and $hittybank is that they pay better, have higher salaries and bonuses.

By extension, the former can attract and keep a High Caliber of employees who do NOT FVCK UP like $hittybank accidentally wiring US$900 Million to Revlon's creditors which caused a domino effect of massive monetary fines, Consent Orders and MRIAs of which $hittybank is buried underneath like a Mount Everest of $hit $hittybank can Not get out of.

$hittybank is the New Gruntal, Bear Stearns, HSBC, Lehman Brothers etc.. A simple Google search of these Defunct $hitHoles shows the mirror similarities and problems in $hittybank.

@aw+1jjz47ha8 - - -He trolls this board with the same rhetoric in various post.
You come to this site and see 3 or so posts updated within minutes with the same phrasings. He’s got like 10 phrases he round robins through.
Most likely he hits various other companies on thelayoff.com with the same stuff. He alluded to do that for fun. I believe there’s more truth in that than what he’d like to admit to himself or would like to live with.

It’d be kinda nice if Citi mgmt could relate more to the employees than they currently do. Maybe one day.
