Thread regarding Citigroup Inc. / Citibank / Citi layoffs

Company culture.

I tried paying my mortgage and bills with company culture it did not work.
I went in and told them “instead of a cash draft, I wish to pay my mortgage in company culture”. They asked me to explain so I told them that “Citi said I should be happy to work here and that they had a great company culture.” So, I’d like to pay all my bills with Citi company culture. They asked me to leave. I don’t understand as to what I said that was wrong. They insisted that payments will continue via auto draft from my checking.
Is there a better way to ask them? A form to fill out?

Company culture or sub-cultures? The company wants to satisfy shareholders. The people in high positions wants to own more so that they get big bonus checks. There is balance of power and competition internally that inhibits shareholder value. That is the reason of layoffs and tamper down the middle layer politics although still exists. I had a bad boss. A self-absorbed and selfish person that only rewarded loyalty. That's the company culture. If you didn't agree, you were outcasted. To very large degree, this was psychologically damaging. I will never get over it and it is personal.

What’s embarrassing about the bailout was that Citi took the most money in order to survive out of all of the bank.

Yeah he may be onto something. If Citi becomes a ward of and subsidized by the U.S. government that means Citi needs another bailout just like in 2008.

This also means Citi is on the brink of failure and too big to fail, again.

Without the 2008 bailout money, $hittibank or T!ttibank whatever anyone wants to call it would not exist today!

It really may need to convert itself to a dairy farm and sell milk instead of banking products.

Here’s a snapshot of management. .

There’s a zoom meeting, everyone is on camera and muted. The boss says something that’s supposed to be funny. Everyone comes off of zoom and makes sure to look at the camera so that the boss can both see and hear them laughing at his humor. Gotta make sure you are heard really belting out laugh. Once the laughter subside, everyone goes on mute and thinks to themselves “I think he bought it”. They then notice some teams chats popping up from a few colleagues of emoji’s of eye-rolling.

It reminds me of that commercial, where people are in a board room and everyone laughs at what the boss says and the boss says “you people should be laughing harder”.

This is what the managerial reign looks like. Not all of them, I myself got very very lucky and have awesome managers but its not always been that way. That said, these are your Citi managers. Make sure you placate the crown and be seen and heard doing it before you move on to actual work.

Post ID: @b6+1jj815p6c And also use the milk in the Citi 388 cafeteria and the Starbucks @388.

The cafeteria calls itself Three-Eighty-Ate. It should then be renamed Three-Atey-Ate.

$hittibank would have Culture if it renamed itself T!ttibank.

$hittibank will actually be profitable if it was a cattle ranch and sold the milk from cows 🐄.

How dare you aspire to have something in life? You should learn your place which is under the heel of Jane’s boot.

As one poster stated:

So we are told to not chase the higher pay elsewhere but be satisfied. “Even though others are leaving for life changing salaries, don’t chase the money be happy where you are at” .

Well that’s easy to say when YOU already live in the biggest house in the neighborhood.
It’s easy to say when YOUR kids already go to the best schools. Its easy to say when everyone in YOUR family already drive the latest model cars.

For those of us who want just a little taste of that and\or are struggling to make ends meet, that’s a bitter pill to swallow to hear you say such things. It’s easy for YOU as YOU are already at the upper upper end of YOUR already inflated pay range.
