After 23 years of service I was part of the October 18th layoff. I had a feeling earlier in the year that my time with WS was approaching. So when I got the call I was let go I was not surprised. The call was heartless, quick and to the point but the best call I had received! It’s been refreshing not to have to wonder daily about receiving that call and that I don’t have to worry about the WS bs any longer. My advice to you all is when you do sign up for your unemployment benefits take advantage of the job fairs to see what’s available. I went to one in Nov and found a prospective employer that had an opportunity I was interested in. I applied and had two interviews and fortunately was hired. Being laid off especially as an older person (52) can be stressful but stay positive. Good luck!

Bankruptcy or Sold is next action. Elliot wants their return. Just so glad that we won’t have C Level executives talking about Fans ever again.

That’s hilarious. I do the same. I have tons of shirts, fancy backpack, all these event goodies. Refer to wireless or starlink (both are better than WS copper fyi) or the electric company. Just don’t wear it out to eat. You might get your food sp-t in or worse.

I got rid of everything I owned that said Windstream when my department was (mostly) gutted last March and work outsourced. Sad that after 40+ years of loyal service I wanted nothing as a reminder because of the disgust I felt with the way that company is now. Something that should have been a source of pride turned into first anger then just sadness for what it has become. Very thankful to be out of the mess that is called Windstream.

"Does anyone know if managers or techs are gonna get laid off again?"

Nobody is safe. Nobody.

Tony was let go because he couldn't sell this pig. Sunu has a track record of selling companies. You can bet it's going to be operational efficiency.

I suspect we'll see ILEC and CLEC brought back together in the name of efficiency, which can eliminate multiple layers of duplicated management.

Even though I don't work here anymore I should return more stuff to the company, like all the plaques over the years I was given for my years of service, I should probably throw those in the trash. Its not like I'm going to whip out my 15 year plaque at the bar and impress some chick with it.
The real question is, I have all of these shirts and baseball caps and I don't really feel like shipping them back.

Occasionally I have to drive through some of the service territories, its during these times that I put on the Windstream branded shirts and baseball caps and when someone tells me about the problems they are having I take their information and then tell them that I will have someone take care of it for them.

Sometimes, I just suggest that they switch over to a cellular provider instead, since it doesn't affect me. Its not like theres anything that can be done to keep this place from going bankrupt again.

I know some of you will read this and go thats just wrong, and that you shouldn't do that. I'm someone who did everything right here and still got laid off.

In closing you should probably update your return policy. There's thousands of us out here now.
