Whoever commented that unions are stupid because SF already pays more than unions do must not understand unions or collective bargaining.
The union does not pay the workers, stupid. The negotiate with the company on behalf of the workers regarding pay, benefits and working conditions.
Glassdoor has a bunch of fake ratings. How are you losing your job and giving it 5 stars? Same with all the former employees. Tips approval from 33 to 41 percent?

Due to increased interest in Unionization within the insurance industry as a whole, a clarification of the union name is in order.
Hence forth as the union shall be known as it pertains to SF:
United Insurance Workers of America - SF Brotherhood or UIWA-SF
All for it. But you realize Agents cannot unionize, right? They are independent business owners with contracted marketing and sales services.
