Had great hopes for a long successful career with Wells Fargo, worked very hard,
much overtime, lot's of deliverables met for over about a decade, and then surprise, bye bye. Looking forward to a new job with a new company as c'est la vie (that's life). NOT thinking they will miss me. Would apply for a new job with Wells Fargo but according to recent comments that sounds pretty impossible at the present time with HR.

Would say most people are only staying for a severance package at this point. The best compensation for dealing with these id--ts.
Yeah there were those Wells Fargo days in the past, prior to the layoff, where the Managers were forcing me to often work 7 days per week. The job requisition stated 40 hours per week, but for quite a while that trully was not happening. Regular job responsibilities + production support that included weekends and evenings. "Yelling" by Managers over too much work that they assigned, that included weekends, not being done quickly enough. NOT missing it at all. Have lot's of money from other sources coming in actually. Will get a new job when I have recovered from it all and feel "at peace" once again.
OK I am at the "laughing" stage of grief over my recent Wells Fargo layoff. Thinking now that I am gone from my former team, and collecting severance pay, they will all now be referring to me in the past tense as "What's her face". That is what the Manager called other former employees after they left the team, "What's his face", she called the former male programmers who left our team. LOL!
Also I get daily/weekly emails and phone calls from technical job recruiters who want me to apply for their programming job openings. Not replying just yet, but will save their contact information. Taking a nice paid break from working right now and am not yet ready to get another job. Lot's to do around the house, things to organize, stuff left undone due to working long hours, weekends and late nights for Wells Fargo.

Take it as a blessing and move on. You got 28weeks pay for your troubles. That should help. Others who left on their own accord because the company sux got nothing. Think of it that way...
@kkn+1haKRCv1 I was layed off in the past and I hit on all of the points in that curve. Actually, some I experienced multiple times.

As soon as I get laid off, I start looking right away, but that's just me. Interview processes take so long, and it's not just here at Wells Fargo.
You really don't know how long you'll be out. I got word in March, and started looking right away. Took me a while to find something, inspite of having interviews almost every day, and week. I guess because of the pandemic, but I eventually found something. I wished it didn't take as long as it did. My saving grace was the severance, and then later, unemployment benefits that kept me afloat.
No job is forever, it seems. I wanted to stay here at Wells, but it wasn't to be. I wish you the best, and remember there is always an open door ahead of you.
Honestly I would prefer being laid off at this time. Its like death by 1000 paper cuts
I would start working on resume and applying now. You can negotiate a start date after 60 day notice. The interview to offer process can take some time, so no need to wait until the working period is over. Of course if you just want to chill and have a fun summer that is another option :) good luck!
Yes, the situation in my Wells Fargo department when I was told that I was being laid off
did seem like utter chaos and confusion going on. Also with SO many other Wells Fargo team members from the department having been already laid off, or laid off that same day. Relief to have some peace now with the 60 day non working notice and some few months of severance pay. Am going through the 6 or so stages of "grief" about it but seem to be at the last "acceptance and move forward stage now". Hoping to get a new, much less stressful job when I start to apply for new jobs soon, after the 60 day non working notice ends.
I just happened to notice some zzs next to the names of a couple people I really respect and admire. Meanwhile plenty of duds remain. If you could do well in this chaos you'll probably find something better.
