Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

It happened

Looks like they finally realized it’s impossible to make cuts in claims.
The cushy jobs aren’t gonna be so nice anymore ;)

We're trying, my friend. We're trying.

Our attempts to make the world better really pi-s off reactionary boomers, though.

At some point, you brilliant young people are going to have to stop the crying and realize that your world, in your time, is what YOU make of it. Stop whining about how people treated you so well and gave you so much that your lives are a hopeless shambles.

Yes. Because we gave them to ourselves. As children. Take some responsibility for the world you created.

Nope. Even the youngest Boomers think participation trophies are stupid.
But your argument seems to be “yeah, we’re entitled and feel special, but it’s somebody else’s fault.” Which just verifies the stereotype.

We never asked for participation trophies. Boomers thought we needed them, not the younger generation.

@1pkp. How exactly is @1bbq part of the problem of employees thinking they’re special? Other than it being a standard talking point?

@1bqq You are an example of the problem. I agree with the participation trophies. They are the same as "the good ol boy" promote on who you know rather than work ethic. It the same and maybe even worse.

@1zwu….it’s not just State Farm, and it’s not most employees. It’s the crowd who thought all those participation trophies from school were supposed to carry over in real life.
But they’ve got it under control. They’re simply dying to tell us about all the uninformed “plans” they have…..for “somebody” to carry out.

Why on earth do SF employees believe they are immune from layoffs? Every year there thousands of employers laying off hundreds of thousands of employees at other companies including competitors. Yet, SF employees somehow believe they are special?

If you look at our government, our politicians, the FBI, the DOJ and our police can you imagine what is at SF? I know for a fact the ethics at SF is the same if not worse. SF needs to stop these behaviors by holding those who engage in such be accountable. Unfortunately, those who engage in this behavior are the one's who fit in, a player (literally), and self medicate. They should reduce the workforce by terminating those by holding them accountable.

For every employee they layoff, executive cost should be reduced by the layoff wage. That would change their attitude real fast. If you throw a punch, you should be able to take a punch. When they layoff a person they don't realize the social costs yet they preach how socially responsible they are. Their hypocrisy knows no bounds.

Maybe just maybe management is realizing the real fat of the company is at the Team Manager and above. Once they lean that out and require they work rather than be a politician, a player, a fit in, etc, the company may be a lean and efficient machine. The customer will notice the outcome and accountability will be brought back to management. DEI should be next. They preach what is already known.

it doesn't matter, its best to have a contingency plan , i have a feeling there is more to the ET and Marketing lay offs, if you are in claims it would not hurt to throw an application or 2 around in case something comes up, plus you are likely to get a raise if you move on.
