So a senior vice president takes a leave of absence?! He was a rising star but even he is disenchanted with Phillips 66 and the money is not enough to retain him. That or he was forced out. Who takes a leave of absence at that level?

Go external…because we do such a great job with learning and development, GOLD leadership training, and succession planning. All window dressing to hide the rot that is within.
It is really about them not having a succession plan ready. What a failure of management. Yet another leaves and we have no plan to backfill them. Hearing they feel no one in midstream is ready. Maybe we have another outsider appointed by our head of HR? I am sure he already has his outsider list ready and is making a play with M@rk to get them in place.
The LOA is an attempt to give some time to think about coming back. Word on the street is he already made up his mind. Not coming back....
Unfortunate as he was a central figure in that business and the only leader with any real ops experience. They should consider Gifh0Rn as he has transformed the Lubes business and could use his no nonsense approach in Midstream.
