Why do some call it the Husky “merger”. It wasn’t a merger! Cenovus bought Husky as they were circling the toilet bowl.
@n3 Not at Cenovus. Take a deal and get as far away from that company as possible. Your emotional and mental health are worth more than a paycheque.

If it's anything like the Husky "merger" there'll a few waves of carnage followed by a several waves of successively smaller layoff's. Cenovus paid more than they wanted for this so they'll be looking to save capitol pretty quickly
I am from MEG. I cannot believe it is that brutal at Cenovus. But I have no choice, really. I'll take a chance. It is better than being unemployed

What a welcome for the MEG people. Hey guys welcome to Cenovus. We’re going to start with a round of layoffs just so you all get a feel for what it’s like to work here, because if we’re good at anything it’s laying people off. Then in a few weeks we will layoff more of you because that’s how we roll. Then in the new year we will probably get rid of even more of you. So have your last drink at your camp to drown your sorrows because tomorrow you’re on our team.
What’s really sad to say is I’m glad it’s them and not all of us which is horrible but true. I feel bad for them all as it’s a cr-ppy time to be out of a job right before Christmas and with Conoco and Imperial doing the same thing. If you ever thought your company cared about you think again.
And a bunch of MEG people got the wfh you may be cut email.
