Thread regarding Mondelez International Inc. layoffs

This job is stupid

Management is the worst. They just blame everyone else for their own failures. They rely on a few good workers to do everyone's work and when those good workers can compensate for the bad ones that they don't get rid of them blame goes to the good workers. What a miserable company.

@gk keep merchandisers in line? With force outs and other sh-t you expect anyone to work for this? With compensation for sales for order writers do you think they may be incentivized to order more? More than needed maybe? I’ve had 5 hutches come in 5 weeks to the same store and they never talked to anyone about getting them out so when I try it’s of course a no and oh great y’all still ordered product for this display they don’t want great job guys great structure

All the good SR’s on our team are long gone! The “pat my back and I’ll pay yours” grew out of control! Sc--w them all, life is so much better outside this sc--wed up place 🤪

Lemme guess, your rms is probably like 24? First real job? Sounds about right! She’s got no clue. She’s gonna get chewed up and sp-t out, if she were on this team she’d quit in a heartbeat! Email her that you’ve tried repeatedly to reach her but she did not answer! Play d-mb and ask if she gave you the right number? Cc yourself and let HR know you are concerned she’s ignoring you. She will figure it out….or not!

My rms is never reachable. Never answers emails, texts or picks up the phone. She is never out helping the merchandisers and puts that responsibility on us reps. She never covers when people call off or when people are on pto. When she does come out to “help” she just stands there and complains about our her people and is always on her phone. Also when she’s in the field she is always riding around with her boyfriend that is also a rms for a different area.

Precisely!! When you get scheduled for more than 40 hours a week, send the rms an email, cc yourself and ask…
Expectations of what is to be done in store
Formula used for determining time
If this same expectation is used for all
Now do this every time you get “targeted” and given more work than others! So easy, I speak from experience. Don’t back down! Then go to management and tell them you feel you are being discriminated against. Every single time!!! Don’t quit doing it! If they stop taking your calls document that too! Email them and tell them you attempted to reach them by phone however many times, cc yourself!! Of course the company will deny any and all wrongdoing, BI and HR are an arm of the company! File with the EEOC. It’s id--ts like the RMS that make this organization ripe for the picking! They said it!!! “Target employees”!!! I was one and now I live on easy street! You can too!

The RMS on this thread is exactly why this company gets sued so much. They hire unprofessional and under qualified managers so they can pay them less than other industries. It bites them back when they start retaliation and being discriminatory. Treating subordinates differently because you don't like them or want them to leave is called constructive dismissal in the eyes of the government and is grounds for litigation.

And having an RMS cry they have too many people to manage….big issue! Even long before Mission 1, when the RMS didn’t have “too many people to manage or train”, they still didn’t do their job! Most worthless people in the company. Cry cry cry!! 8 hours a day, including anytime at home handling emails etc, no more!! I relish in missing every objective! I make it my mission to miss by enough to sc--w my DM!

It’s a system that was set up to fail! BTW, even when merchandisers only had half the deliveries they still didn’t rotate! Forcing in product you don’t need is the issue!

@yb If sales reps do zero orders then what's the point of having one, walmarts won't give up space, meanwhile some order writers are stuck with 7 stores 6 order writes and 400 cases, and forced in product and they wonder why rotation is a problem.

I schedule sales reps to at least 1 delivery a day. Some days I can cover and free them up but they really didn't know what to do with the time.
They will check dates and open pitcher just to get off the list.
I think RTM's are the way to go.
Sales rep/RMS for the territory.

If we did that I know about four reps on this team that would be gone

We’ve made the rms cry so many times, it’s pathetic! We had one rms that worked 70 hours a week, as a management you are salaried and as an sr, we are not allowed to work overtime! Formula for any rms to be hating, and that’s what happens. Never had an rms on our team last more than a couple of months and left hated by all! When merchandises don’t rotate, guess who’s fault? Haha! Any and all good reps take lots of pics and cc themselves on emails involving merchandising issues. Quit trying to pass the buck.

“Targeted”….you mean retaliated against? Hahaha! If you were the RMS in our area you’d run home to your mommy crying! Been here 20 years, we don’t put up with your bs! We’ve been through more rms’s than we can count. Sticks and stones baby! Shut up and go train the mo--ns the company gave you! Your job, not ours

@nj you honestly think I take weekend calls from stores? ha. think again. this company already owns my m - f, they aren’t taking any more. and your comments just show how clueless you are and the position you are in. recruiting handles merchandiser hiring except for referrals. that’s out of my hands. who’s contact info do they have and is the pointman for the stor? yours. if u were a sr in my area id give u the most garbage merchandisers we have and give better ones to others. if ur rms is d-mb enough to give into u then thats their issue. youd definitely b targeted by the dm for termination in our area if u pulled that kinda bs. shut up and get to sellin u duma$$

When I sell in 14 hutch displays it’s not MY job to put them up, I have too many accts and sells displays of this size all the time! If all I am doing is merchandising what I sell in, when is time to do the rest of my job. As an rms it is YOUR job to supply qualified merchandisers who can read and follow instructions. I’ve had your “bad” merchandisers more than once or twice while other reps get more qualified help, it’s gonna bite YOU in the butt, not me! My accts know where the issues lie! The appreciate me and my work and when these issues pop up, guess who they will call? Your boss, not mine! Zone managers and district managers don’t blame me! Our largest account put Mondelez on probation due to poor merchandising support, that’s on you! My accounts hate the RMS, they can’t understand why you send id--ts into their store to work. You seem to be on a power trip, thinking you control things, think again! Hope you enjoy the weekend calls!

If people are being scheduled for 14 hr days, and they are, the problem is inadequate management! That’s unrealistic! And why do they do this? Because they can’t retain help, people need work life balance! And if you do work extra, what do you get as a benefit? Zilch! Yelled at! There are some merchandisers that work faster than others which only sets a few up for success. There is so much discriminatory behavior that goes on it’s sickening! Management is where is all begins!

I think the main problem is overloading people with work, that's impossible to do..14 hr days are scheduled and if u just work 8 you play catch up for days...the problem is bad workers and inadequate distribution of hours.

@k9 if you think you have it bad. rms territories have 4-6 reps on them, with upwards of a 100 accounts in their area of the team. so shut up and deal with your 20-30. also if your selling in 14 hutches at an account, if it was me I’d be the one making sure it’s done correctly rather than relying on some $15 an hour flunky merchandiser who doesn’t know a damn thing about this business. pushing things up to the rms isnt going to work. reps tried that with me and I just slide it right back down. being on good terms with your rms can make or break you. we as rms can easily send you good merch help, or bad help. I’ve had SRs be pricks before, and I’ve sent them the worst merch help and they just had to deal with it. I don’t expect people to kiss the ring, but to just be professional. pulling nonsense like that is a quick way to make your life more miserable

@gt my punctuation and grammar are done on purpose to remain anonymous. last thing u need is someone recognizing a writing style and connecting back. especially when u type a buncha emails all the time. retaliating is real here

Good 4 u. but u have better opportunities with that degree in somethin else. degree not required for promotion to sr.

u can train and train and train people, work with them, but they’ll always be lazy and cut corners. no rotating, not running bs, etc. I’ve put plenty of hrs in training w/ ppl but the end result is always the same. when ppl have high case loads, high CPH goals, out of reach revenue goals, they aren’t going to care.

that team approach used worked when morale was high. we saw record low engagement results….theyll announce this soon btw. heard some regions r doing some bs picnic thing. hilarious that they think that will boost moral

this company used to know how to sell to accounts…now’s all they care about is that app usage for pitcher, and getting onto ppl who skirt their apps and use it outside store location. U will grasp reality 1 day little fella

@gk
First, I'm a FTOW. I think your comment "mentally disabled" is inappropriate use of terminology. I'm a hard working, college educated employee. I choose to work here.

Second, I don't think you're an RMS. Your grammer skills are lacking. There's a lack of punctuation, capitalized wording and education apparently.

Perhaps, instead of belittling those new/current employees why not help them reach their potential. No matter what job, level of achievement or title you hold, you should want to be a team player and help others excell.

RMS here. We don’t enough time in our day to be on every single sales rep territory, and micromanage 20-30 merchandisers. theres a lot of bs behind the scenes that we also have to deal with that you srs don’t even catch wind of. we stop a lot of the garbage from even reaching you, and the stuff that reaches you is nonsense we can’t prevent. not to mention we have to manage the mentally disabled merchandisers that this company likes to hire. you think you guys have it rough, try being an rms for a week. you couldn’t handle it. you guys think we just sit on our butt all week doing nothing, but in reality we are out covering things, covering YOUR vacations, and attempting to keep merchandisers in line . you should be more appreciative that we keep most of the garbage off your plates…

I know my RMS has 35 employees to deal with.
She can't be everywhere everyday on everyone's territory (huge geography).
I just help with coaching my FTOW on how I want things done in my stores.
If they still not doing do it to my expectation, I contact my RMS with the email receipts and pictures.
Easy enough.

Nothing is going to change people, it’s only getting worse! And this pattern started 20 years ago at least! Management is to blame, they hold zero accountability! Send out new merchandisers with no training and expect the reps to pick up the slack, even though it’s not our job! It’s the responsibility of the RMS to train merchandisers, not the reps! I don’t fix things, I take pics and move on! Let the RMS fix! My stores all have the RMS’s phone number! I don’t work weekends either! I refuse to do everyone else’s work! When I get terminated I got a very long portfolio of pics and calls to back me up! It will come down to this but I’m not afraid! Management su-ks! Hold them accountable!!!

This is absolutely true, all we can do is take pictures of the wreckage in the backrooms before the clean up crew (the good workers) come in and correct it, only to get blamed for not hitting the last 2 stores after throwing 300 cases left from the day before as they try to work thru 7 stores and get to 5 or 6 and they are already at a 9 or 10 hour workday.
