Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

Retention

If Allstate wants to retain Esurance employees they’re going to have to change things like better health benefits (no more high deductible plans) and benefits to compete with other large organizations. Allstate will need to pay us fairly and give us our bonuses back. Allstate also needs to start promoting Esurance talent and stop promoting people that have been with their organization for 20+ years. It’s 2021, not 1980. Get it together and evolve your benefits, pay, and development- not just your budget.

Believe me as someone who has been with Esurance over 10 years we were perfectly happy before the takeover. Nothing has improved thats for sure.

@2zsn+1bwQr1aI More & more Allstate is doing things the Esurance way. The “new” processes you see are coming from Esurance. Esurance culture is what long time Allstaters say Allstate used to be like.

You’re assuming they want to retain Esurance employees. They don’t.

Are most of the esurance folks still in California? If so, you're not going to survive 2021's RIF, likely.

OP, have you considered a career in stand-up comedy?

If you ask leadership how they intend to reward Esurance employees their response would be, "who?"

Doubt they want to retain esurance employees since they are more expensive on average.

I’ve worked at other large organizations. Benefits at Allstate are better than most, comparatively. Only exception is maternity leave. Allstate’s policy of three weeks is embarrassing. Allstate could also consider tiered pricing for benefits — people who earn less than X pay a lower price than people who make more than X, or example.

That’s a shame considering NextGen is hot trash compared to Claims Central. Esurance would have been better off without Allstate.

All fair points but I can tell you are new to Allstate. I can say as a 18 year employee who has seen many of these acquisitions none of this is going to happen. None. The fact is Allstate acquired Esurance for its systems and automated services, not its employees. Allstate does not want to keep most of the Esurance employees and they would rather have you frustrated and walk on your own than have to eventually pay you severance.
