Thread regarding Optum layoffs

Haven't heard anything new

Can we assume the cutting is done for a few weeks at least, or should we still be on high alert?

@ks ugh I guess it depends on the team and management for each area. Sad either way.

@kn it’s not individually done very often these days. 75% of my department was RIFd on two back to back Teams meetings in December. One for middle management and one for their direct reports. They are laying off too many to be able to do it one at a time.

@kc you’re probably safe and just being reorged. The usually layoff individually not as a group. At least that was my experience and how my team was handled. Good luck to you all.

Just got a mandatory meeting "invite" for tomorrow. My department and about 3 others that I know of are all included. We're in OBC - looks like our time is up.

Next layoff is 2/19 and I heard it is much bigger than the one we had last month. I believe it will impact mostly GL 27 & below because they just hit all the 28’s and up. Some areas will be lifted to other areas and I can only assume those areas will be looked at again in 3-6 months after that. It’s a very unhealthy environment for everyone involved.

According to a "leak" someone posted here a few weeks ago, there will be layoffs at the ending of each month through the first half of the year. And the leak was only for the first half of '26.

@e3 what all does optum health include? Does that include the housecalls Program? Some of us already have merit review meetings scheduled before the supposed 02/19 lay off date..

Optum Health. They definitely are going to cut people before merits or RRP’s. Happens all the time. This is the worst I have ever seen the company and culture in 18 plus years!! Run if you can!
