I wouldn’t take a relocation package, even if there was one

Who in their right mind would move for a job these days? I’m supposed to uproot my whole family, have my wife leave her job, and force the kids to change schools - just to move to some hub and risk losing the job six months or a year later? The days when jobs or careers were worth relocating for are long gone. I’d bet that everyone who’d need to relocate is going to quit anyway. Which, honestly, might be exactly what they’re hoping for.

@jk the experienced claim handlers who are remote will not go to the hubs. There have been numerous chances to go to hubs and op centers over the years as offices closed. Anyone willing to go went years ago. Of course, they know that, so when it is time to jettison us that is what they will do.

Relo pkgs are a thing of the past. Either the WFH go to the hubs on their own or they are out of a job. Coming soon to SF employees. Turn and burn.

Why would anyone care whether you would relocate or not? We don’t care how you spend your time either.

Now we’re reduced to talking about how we’ll refuse to take things that aren’t even offered?

Being close to retirement I may relo if the package is good enough, ride out any required time I have to stay and then retire. I would not buy a house in any of the hub cities, just rent and then buy a home where I would like to retire. And did I mention do the bare minimum the entire time? Give what you get.
