Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

More layoffs in a few months

There will be more layoffs with 60 day notices in April. That’s the magic month they will let all claims employees know if they will have to work from home permanently, go half at home, half into a hotel work space, or go back to a germ filled office somewhere.

It’s not rocket science folks. They have a plan and they’re implementing it. They’re just not telling all the peasants what the plan is until it affects them directly. April is a great time to lay off more people with a 60 day notice so they can cut their expenses by the end of the fiscal year, June 30. Then if they cut too many people, they can just hire new people in this employer friendly marketplace for a lot less money than they’re paying the remaining tenured folks that they didn’t cut in November. I’ve been here over 30 years and seen this happen many times I have the biggest target on my back and can feel that I am in the crosshairs. Good luck to all especially those over 50.

The only reason they are waiting until April is because they want to see what Covid does, but they’re gonna lay off more. As many as they can.

They’d save so much money in operating expense if they just kept people home... since that seems to be all Allstate is concerned about anymore is saving money.

@jix+18PP6VFn It's unlikely those working from home will return to the office in 2021. Coronavirus isn't going anywhere and the "warp speed" vaccine is useless since the majority of people won't get it (including myself). It certainly is "interesting times".

I'm so over this BS! I used to have such pride in the company I work for and pride in my work. However, at this point I am doing just enough to get by. Lay me off please! I have put in a good number of years my severance should be a nice little temporary cushion.

All employees, across all areas, will be notified by end of April whether they will return to office full time, split time between home and office, or work from home full time.

For those returning to the office, July 6 is the earliest date you’ll return. It could be pushed later depending on Covid.

Other than Encompss/NatGen, I am not aware of other layoffs planned.
