Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Charlie and Diversity

I am sitting in this DE&I conference (I am a total suckup to get an Exceeds go DE&I woo hoo) and Charlie defended his "unfortunate" words that he would love to hire black people but there are none and had no idea what DSRI stood for - tell me again Charles that you care about diversity.

And baseball is boring - like cranberries.

Wells is doing the norm
Hiring white males and giving them high salaries while throwing minorities anything

By that logic, the NBA and NFL should have 13% black players.

If you think about it, this country doesn’t give a C R A P about education. Besides, parents who send their kids to public schools should be blamed. Let’s not fool ourselves. We know what it was like in school as kids. Get my drift? I just keep telling my parents, you reap what you sow.

Charlie was 100% right about the talent. The bell curve at the high end is still quite a bit behind the normal for all other areas.
This is why it is so hard.

I’m so sick of people crying for reparations. DE&I is a farce. Everything should be based on merit. Survival of the fittest.

I thought that African Princess did a good job and gave a great talk. I don't know how much truth there was, but she did have pictures. The rest of that crowd didn't impress me very much.

If so you wouldn't hear a word of whining/crying about it or demands to set up programs to fix the "problem". Welcome to equality, where no one gives a damn if you don't get a job / promotion and they presume, often rightly, that you simply didn't deserve it--rather than assume it's some great injustice and grand conspiracy.

Perhaps the African-American community is smart enough to know not to even bother applying for a job at WF? It’s a scandalous company, According to what we read in the news every month. Only reason I’m still here is because I’m wearing a 🛟. Gotta have one in the sinking ship.

Charlie wasn't completely wrong in those statements though. Most of the black population hadn't reach those levels until the past few years due to lack of education and promotions. They are just now trying to catch up where white people have been doing it for decades. Besides black people make up about 13% of the population, so it seems reasonable that 13% should be represented at various levels. People lately think it should be 50%, they just don't exist though.

Cranberries, especially dried, are a great idea. DE&I on the other hand, not so much.

@fjn+1jCIhJFL If we had always done that white males would not be the majority.

Maybe Wells Fargo should just focus on hiring the best qualified people. Don't worry so much about what they look like. That may be important.

This whole summit is complete nonsense. Lisa references being overlooked as she was growing up or moving up in business. If she didn't have race or gender to 'blame" it on, she would realize that this happens to a lot of people. Looking to blame racism and s-xism where it does not exist. This is where DE&I falls apart.
