Prompted to sign off that W4 information correct in Peopleworks

Interesting morning. I am a manager with less than 7 direct reports. I went into PeopleSoft this morning, and there was a note that they needed me to sign off on my W4 information by 8/21/20. Should I take this as a sign that I am being packaged out by the end of the month?

@bct+16nfS0Hi - yep it might just be that. even though I continue to get refunds, the IRS sent me a letter stating I had to change my W4, that I needed to take less deductions,

That really surprised me, as I had never received that kind of oversight from the IRS before, even when I went through an audit (which was resolved due to a misunderstanding) over 20 years ago.

It took a few weeks before WF sent me an email to do the same.

I owe the IRS money this year and setup a payment plan, would this help with this?

If you pay attention to tax laws the form change this year and so they wanted everybody to make sure that they’ve made corrections or affirmed that they’re accurate they called us out earlier in the year and asked everybody to do it now they’re probably just following up

Pretty sure this is a prompt that happens annually. Speaking from 2+ decades of experience.

I wouldn’t. Seems like they are battening down the hatches in certain areas. Probably finding holes that should have been closed many moons ago. New management should review every single process from top to bottom. If I were put in charge of an area, I would literally go sit and watch people do their jobs and ask lots of questions. I would want to understand the groups and work and customers I am responsible for.

One of my co-worker’s spouse who does not work for WF just had to do the same thing. Sounds like an IRS issue.

They want to make sure all your information is correct before they pull the plug

I had to do the same thing a couple of weeks ago. @jgs, why do you say that’s a sign of being displaced this month?
