Just received noticed that Centene (CenTeam?) is reacating to the $253 million dollar loss with layoffs. Just received my RIF with 12 weeks of severance and last day is 8/22/2025. Here we go folks - here we go!

@1a0 Everyone's been getting that email, just in waves.
I got it the other week and I haven't been let go. It's just a regular push to add more authentication layers to your access to MyPay.
@jg but you didn’t get laid off. You’re in here complaining about more work….. why would you comment something like that on a board with those getting let go?
Has anyone laid off got a request before hand from payroll to add security questions to mypay? It says it’s important so you can have access during leaves or if you leave the company.
Seems we have a troll on this thread, someone anonymously stalking someone horrified by this whole situation. It's just for attention. Don't give it to him/her/it (sorry if I missed a few dozen pronouns). This person just wants shock value.
@g6 😂😂😂 The layoff board is for layoffs and responses, can’t handle that, too bad. Still doesn’t stop me from posting, and I will be here until I decide to leave. Unless the company lets me go, than I will take my severance happily. Now go cry me a river.
@ad “I was honestly hoping to be a part of these layoffs today, sadly all we were given is an increase in productivity making the job more overwhelming than it already is. Best of luck with your future. 12 weeks of severance sounds wonderful.”
Let me fix that for you. “I was honestly so scared I’d be let go but secretly I’m thankful I didn’t get that call. Im exhausted and I could totally find a job in 12 weeks or less. I’m burnt out and need a vacation but let me come on here and pretend I can resonate with those who got let go by pretending I wanted to get let go. Maybe I’ll get me some upvotes. I could have told my boss pick me if there is a RIF but I would rather come on the layoff board and pretend I wanted to get let go.”
Maybe you’ll be next.
:)
@ad I would have happily had double the work. HONESTLY.
“I was honestly hoping to be a part of these layoffs today, sadly all we were given is an increase in productivity”
You mean you have to actually earn your paycheck? Aww. Poor you. Why didn’t you tell your boss you wanted to be canned and given severance? Then you come on here acting like you’re gonna get sympathy.
By all means don’t reply. You’ve got more WORK to do.
I was HONESTLY hoping you’d get laid off too.
@ad “12 weeks of severance sounds wonderful.”
What happens after those 12 weeks? Perhaps you should have put yourself on the chopping block since you are so convinced you can find a good jon in 12 weeks.
People like you…. VOLUNTEER YOURSELF if that 12 weeks sounds so CUSHY
@av I can say that the Wellcare Medicare Appeals and we were notified mid May that we are being outsourced to NTT Data India at the end of the year for if not sooner.
It would be really nice if people would say what team….
@as they do it in waves mostly...get a email for a meeting invite w/manager and a HR person and they tell you
@ap How do you lay off that many people in one day? Was there a big meeting where they laid off all of the attendees at once?
@ap what department?
@ap What department?
Yep, I stated 7/31 as the date, and 100 employees in my department were laid off today
Makes sense. I’m good either way but feel bad for everyone that really needs their jobs and not at the same point in life that I am.
@ad what department?
@OP what state are you in??
@ac I don't know how much of this is manager discretion, but I know, through previous friends who planned to retire, notifying their manager DIDN'T get them selected for RIF. It saves the dept more money if they know said person will willingly walk without severance.
I know of other companies who would gladly let people be selected with a hefty payout.
I was honestly hoping to be a part of these layoffs today, sadly all we were given is an increase in productivity making the job more overwhelming than it already is. Best of luck with your future. 12 weeks of severance sounds wonderful.
I’m pretty close to retiring so l told my manager that if there were any layoffs on our team to choose me so that someone younger on our team can keep their job. We’ll see.
So sorry. It's not a good feeling, I have been laid off in the past and it hurts so much.
I wish you and every one the very best in finding something new and hopefully better.
So nerve wracking! And I’m sure these layoffs will continue into 2026.
@a8 I’ve heard that in not immediately laying people off, this prevents a warn notice from having to be issued. Now I could be absolutely wrong about this, but that’s what I’ve been hearing.
What determines the 12 weeks? What about continuation of medical benefits?
@OP
I’m sorry to hear that. Scary. What dept? State?
The layoffs were/ are part of the Financials. The financial health announced did not happen overnight. It happened much earlier, well before contrary to what somebody said. The RIFs are part of the remediation, just as so many leaders humping ship since March.
@a1 and the lovely email of: "...Check-in - please prioritize" - #centenesucks
@a2 Digital Design -- DXE and Ops. Many getting the AX TODAY!
Sorry to hear that! Can I ask what department or area?
RIFs had to be submitted in June, before the guidance was pulled or the issue even identified, so the decisions weren’t actually a result of what we now know about the financials. Sorry this happened to your role.
