Farewell On-Site IT Support

After April 30, on-site IT support in Connecticut, St Louis, Colorado, and New Jersey. The only options will be Tech Central chat or Service Desk via phone.

Close out a useful function that's actually been helpful when needed, so we can communicate with a HIH agent. I'm sure all issues will be thoroughly and promptly resolved and there will be no negative outcomes.

@jg No, that's logical and makes sense. Why do the right thing when you can do the wrong thing instead? It's the Cigna way.

Since we are in desperate cost cutting mode, here's an idea - close any non-necessary physical site. What a savings on HVAC, utilities, maintenance, cleaning, etc.

Has to be better than the bullsh-t cuts we actually implement.

What?? The onsite IT support in Bloomfield is awesome. The staff was great and they bailed me out of tech issues multiple times and saved me from hours of downtime. Why close the whole thing down? I could see cutting back the number of techs a bit but why get rid of one of the only useful things about working in Bloomfield???

OMG this is so true. I used to tell my manager all the time that the customers were getting upset about this. They would call and get an agent from India or the Philippines and could not understand them. The customers would sometimes then hang up and keep calling back until they got an agent in America. The agents from overseas would do very basic troubleshooting and then close the ticket, even though the issue was, most likely, not resolved. Wow, I feel sorry for the customers now.

Oh no! That su-ks for the folks affected as well as the employees who need the help. Very short sighted.
