I used to work there but was let go in 2020. While looking at the site, I noticed on Google Maps that the El Segundo office is marked as 'Temporarily closed,' and I didn’t see it listed on Teradata’s website. Has that office been shut down?

We were renting the building. Still many years left on lease. The owners sold the building and let Teradata break the lease. We move some people to Wework on PCH. I left several years ago, so I do not know if anyone is working onsite in/or near El Segundo.
@w6 what happened to this thread? Thanks for answering though. Lol
We’ll see how things really are the first week of November.
To actually answer the question... the lease for the site ended years ago. The LA site is now a wework space
@vc finally, some things we can agree on:
- Teradata aren't f(l)ailing "just because they don’t tolerate dead weight". There's oh so many other factors too
- I think we all know Teradata and "trendy" don't go well together (I mean, aside from all major success metric trends, but that'd just be churlish)
@tc Funny take, but Teradata isn’t handing out pink slips to stay trendy. We keep high performers and invest in them. If you're getting shown the door, it’s usually not a mystery why. Not every company is flailing just because they don’t tolerate dead weight.
@mq - you do realize that not being laid off without cause is a very low bar?
So much so in fact, that if this wasn't the case, someone may set up a place where people could post reasons/moan/warn about those kinds of "thriving and shining" companies...
@mq .... LOL, this coming from the Vantage Engineer, 7 years into it and a decade behind.
@jd I value the culture of Teradata deeply and I also appreciate the WLB. Teradata is truly a place to thrive and shine as an engineer, we have more autonomy than most fanng engineers and also the ability to take leadership roles earlier on. Say whatever you want about me my performance reviews are excellent and I've got decades of time left with this company, it will be my decision to leave I won't be laid off.
@fq bro you sound awful to work with. Let's be real. If you were as good at your job as you think you are, you'd be at google or amazon
Next level trolling - hilarious!
@em I didn't say anything wrong or insult OP. I just asked them to evaluate if they were a fit to join Teradata. You guys love bashing this company all I did was ask OP if he thought he had what he takes to rejoin the organization and told him to look in RB. Teradata is a fine place to be but OP should evaluate what they want from a career
@bd you sound like a raging tool
@bd You do understand companies let high performers go all the time, right? People working on the wrong project at the wrong time, for example. You’ll be laid off one day; when that happens, we’ll be here to remind you of your worth and how you should “reflect on why you were let go.” Enjoy life, you sound like an a--hole.

Why are you still here on this board then? If you want to get back into Teradata maybe try for Rancho Bernardo that site is doing excellent. Although you should reflect on why you were let go of and if you're a right fit for Teradata. They don't let go of their best normally
