Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

Really? Increasing in-office requirements now?

Increase the in-office mandate right when gas prices are pushing people's budgets to the limit. Nothing says "we value our employees" like forcing them to choose between a paycheck and a tank of gas.

@sv It has always been priced globally. It is a commodity. The difference is Trump started this war that caused crude to spike.

@sv not sure if you know this or not but uh.

Trump started a war and the opposing team choked off 20% of the globe's fuel trade.

Still a global market. One petulant child with an army FA'ing and letting all of us suffer his FO consequences

What that survey actually did was reveal the things that affect you the most—so management can use that information to push you toward quitting.
We all know the real playbook here: reduce staff gradually through natural attrition (like retirements), AI automation, and the usual yearly departmental budget cuts. At the end of the day, we're all going to get sc--wed eventually—whether it's due to failed leadership at the farm level or the government slowly tanking the economy.
And when the economy spirals even further out of control, the farm already has all these measures lined up to make work su-k even more."

On the next employee survey show them they were wrong! Leaders are answrrable if they get bad survey results so rate every thing low! They will get the point!

Biden Oil was $125 a barrel Average gas price was around $3.61
Trump Oil is $98 a barrel average gas price is around $3.40

Not a Trump fan but didn't hear any of the libtards complaining about 20% inflation, high Gas prices, doubling of home prices and war in Ukraine....funny how they always overlook that.....hmmm! Don't believe your lying eyes!

Maybe people should have thought about gas prices before again supporting a lying conman that started a war to distract from his pedo activities.
If you voted for him, look in the mirror every time you fill up

Short term pain for
Long term gain, right?

Just remember.....State Farm gives you nothing. If anything, they take as much as they possibly can from your health to financially. I honestly dont know how they can sleep well going from what they once were to today. Their credibility has tanked. The nepotism has destroyed the company. The only solution is go back to what once worked and stop driving while looking in the rear view and mirror.

@d4 Where have you been? Pensions are already gone. Those grandfathered in have it but it's invested in an annuity so it really costs the company little if anything comoared to the new 401k co contribution they make. If they ceased allowing increases to oension for those it applies to, they would roll to the new 401k plan. It's a silly idea with little to nothing cost benefit. If the thought is to get older people out, thats what the buyout offer is for.

@d6 then all executive compensation must be reduced by 50%. Do not complain, you can leave anytime.

At-will employment works all ways not just for low level employees.

@cn then compensation should align to in office presence. For me its 100%, being at the bottom. Then sure

Do your job (and do not complain).

You can resign, anytime; you want.

At-will employment, works both ways.

Ive honestly not seen a company so interested in destroying its human capital as ive seen with state farm. Its a company that truely hates the people working for them.

Happy to come back in the office. This wfh allowed declining mental health and lack of fully committed to culture employees. Get back to work!

@a2 Ohh god bless you! You truly don't understand. AI is supposed to eliminate 50+% all jobs over the next 3-5 years. Even if they are only half right that is 25% of all jobs. Executives get very brave knowing they have an endless supply of desperate slave labor. Lemmings! 80% of all employees at SF have been here 5 years or less. In most claims areas 70% of the employees have been here 2 years or less. This is only going to get compounded. Talent? Have you seen what is walking around the office? It looks like a damn near homeless convention. It's the weed smell in the parking garages and elevators that should be the giveaway about our "talent". Clearly, yes they want you to leave. Pi-p you out for a 2-3 years and get in another person to abuse..... No they will not be hiring remotely...if anything that is the next shoe to drop!

They want less workers, and are too cowardly to cut people preforming poorly, so theyll let their good talent walk to save face.

I bet anything within 1 year they will start hiring 100% remote due to needing workers.

Executives at SF have a fetish for angry workforce.

Other poster is right, they dont care about the workers, and would replace you with AI or someone in the Philippines if they could. Executives i guess are tired of WFH and want to be in office so we all suffer for it.

I dont get why they cant just let phones roles stay home whenever they want, getting talent in these roles is difficult, getting those we do get to stay is even harder.

Im really just in shock and awe this was even a thought process after the last survey made it clear NO ONE WANTS RTO.....

So clearly they are ok with many leaving due to this change.

These executived don't think about employees. They think this is going to drive profits up when employees are disgruntled lol. My best advice is to continue loading up on progressive stock because statefarm continues making bad decisions that allow other insurance companies to gain marketshare.
