Thread regarding BP PLC layoffs

Is the 4-day RTO definitely coming in March?

And where exactly do they plan to squeeze all those people?

Offshoring is already a done deal. The next round of people laid off will begin training sometime in 2026.

I wonder what her approach to offshoring jobs to Pune will be? Hopefully she slows it down given we aren’t seeing much value so far

I'm not sure what Meg's true feelings are about RTO. The flexible work schedule at Woodside is mostly because of the ridiculous hours people keep due to the Perth home office being 13 hours different from Houston. I have a mate at Woodside and he is constantly complaining about being in calls with Perth until 10:00 pm. I also get the impression that 3 days in office is more heavily enforced than bp. Only time will tell...

@j6 bps performance get worse as the "challenge" generation moves up into leadership levels.

Purely coincidental, I'm sure.

@hs BP's performance has nothing to do with employees not being in the office 5 days a week, and all to do with the insane strategy and organizational changes leadership has been implementing for a good few years now.

@hs. not really. bP has been circling the toilet for nearly 20 years. they just need to avoid major missteps, accidents, and fines.

4 day? Sh-t it’s going to be Musk style 5 days per week, 10-12 hours per day. BP needs to execute like now.

@as this change was due to certain segments in ST&T not following the 60/40 rule. This could well happen in other businesses where people are not doing 60/40

I heard Woodside has 9/80 and 3 days in the office. If Megsy implements that at bp she will be the most popular CEO.

With the arrival of our new CEO the only certainty is that the whimpering will continue on this site.

RTO coming for Trading and Shipping. It’s up to the Segment EVPs what they want to do; the choice is their autonomy. CH said it works better for ST&S…but also didn’t give any numbers to prove it.

New CEO was an advocate of flexible working and 9/80s at woodside.

@a1 with this new CEO being legacy XOM, we might have to do 5 days a week in the office
