Hard times. I have several colleagues who are panicking trying to find another job that will not require them to be vaccinated. It seems that there are almost no such jobs. Do people who refuse vaccination have any options at all?

@iauf+1d6ZpZD9 if this vaccine is so great then why are you and so many others so damned scared or worried about those of us that don't receive it. You are vaccinated so you are protected, right?
I have no risk factors. I've been exposed to this virus (boyfriend who got real sick) and experienced no symptoms myself. Probably been exposed many more times than that. This shouldn't be a debate of get vaxxed or die. Because unless you are over 50, or have high risk factors, odds are you will be just fine.
You can thank MSM for you phobia of COVID.

And, we are a health insurance company not a health system (that is like SSM, Mercy, etc). So, while you may be undervaxed, thank your parents for that misstep, it was not going to ki-l the rest of us. Good luck with your job hunt. You are going to need it.
@iyfw+1d6ZpZD9 clearly you must be new to working for centene because they never checked, mandated, or cared about any prior vaccines. I did not have to submit proof of my TDAP, hepatitis, flu, or other vaccines. I am not required to get the yearly flu shot. In fact I was way overdue for some of the boosters of my childhood vaccines fir a while. Guess what? No one cared. Crazy right? I was there walking around with the risk of stepping on a rusty nail, and no one cared.

And, health systems have always required all employees to get certain vaxes. This is not new. You need to put on your tinfoil hat and calm down.
To those of you that want to shame or belittle others for not taking the jab, WE choose freedom over bowing down to a mandate that is against our constitutional rights. Do you really think it’s about feelings or safety ??? No it’s about rights! If you want to practice safety, offer advice that will boost the immune system. Oh how about the monoclonal treatments that are working, but the government snatched those and put stipulations and limits on who gets them..how about that for “ safety”. Or even the facts about natural immunity, which by the way is proven to be 27 times more effective than the jab. Or the fact that the protection wears off after sometime and you have to eventually get like a third booster, maybe even a 4th, 5th…98th booster and still can get COVID and end up in the hospital and unfortunately, still die as some fully vaccinated people have. If the vaccinated are protected, then why try to force others to get vaccinated , they are protected right?? Or not?? Or maybe?? So what’s all the fuss about?? That’s why you see a lot of people willing to give up careers…the jabs don’t work as they say they do and .they know our freedoms are at stake. But if you want to take the jab, then carry on, but don’t belittle others because we refuse to bow down and just hand over our rights! You can give yours away..it’s yours!
Um, yes there is, it's a mandate by Centene. Forget what Biden has or hasn't done it don't matter one bit. Centene made this decision and actually had already done it before Biden even said anything. So you don't know what you are talking about.
There is no official mandate!! The Biden administration has yet to file one and it's OCTOBER... He made that announcement end of July -early Aug?! Why has no official filling taken place?? It's a scare tactic because he knows its unconstitutional
Visit the other layoff forums and you will get your answer. UnitedHealth, CVS, Humana, and Kaiser have vaccine mandates. From the forum and an article, Anthem says they will not allow the unvaccinated into the building. I have no idea of the Blue Cross/Blue Shield association. They run independently in every state, so the CA & NY may have mandates, but maybe the ones in MO or FL or TX do not. It is only a matter of time before all health insurers require it.
Got my info from several employees at Anthem I've known for years. Cannot say for sure about UHC, but they have so many employees, there is no possible way they won't follow the Federal mandate. It seems to be all employees at any company following the rules, not where you are located to work for said company.
Was that just announced today? My friend works at Anthem in management and she said they hadn't been mandated.
Don't know where you got your info, but Anthem most certainly does require that ALL, including WFH, get vaxed.
Not sure where you are but Anthem and United Healthcare do not require vaccine for remote workers.

I have read posts from you for over a year, but your last one is just amazing. At first, I just passed right on my by it until I saw who it was from. You should be ashamed about posting complete rubbish. You have posted zero evidence people have had lasting effects from the vaccine. You are just promoting nonsense and hysteria amongst all your bubble headed brethren.

I am largely pro-vaccine. I've been under the impression from Day 1 that, like the flu, we're all getting exposed to this (in varying degrees) one way or another, whether airborne or vaccination.
I got the 2nd shot in early September, and became fairly sick within a week, and it lasted a full week. 3 weeks later, I still struggle to fully take deep breaths. I'm in shape - I work out 5-6 days/week, and eat fairly healthy. I would agree that none of us know the long-term effects of this, but still, with the vaccine I at least have some control over the viral load + have cleared a hurdle needed for many aspects of my life (including employment). Avoiding the vaccine all-together is operating under the assumption that you can somehow avoid the virus too from here out.

I wouldn’t be surprised if proof of vaccination will be required for everything you want to do in the near future.
Either get the shot -Keep you job or get let go with no unemployment benefits =no income. Or start your own business.
Crazy that people will ruin careers instead of taking the shot. It's nuts. But, to each his/her own. Can't imagine a lot of companies out there that would love to hire someone who refuses the vaccine. There are some for sure, but how much stress is someone going to go through rather than the shot?
