Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

Before 2020 allstate was a great place to work

Don't get me wrong. Working from home isn't bad. However, now that upper management sees that most of the jobs can be done remotely they are going to outsource everything and send all the jobs to vendors in other countries. Allstate no longer cares about the work culture or its employees. Allstate is no longer a great place to work. There is a very high chance that if your department hasn't already went to a vendor it will. Once with the vendor there will always be a huge salary discrepancy and anytime the vendor decides to cut costs Americans will be first in line.

I don't even remember the last time claims heard anything from Eric Brandt....think it was a holiday message maybe, but it's been eons since he showed any actual leadership to the group.

That is a true statement. I'm a couple of years away to qualify for my pension and they are doing everything in their power to get me out.

@iso+1l8wcBf4 nailed it. Claims has been decimated and both agents and customers are screaming it from the rooftops but corporate won’t hear a thing until it hits their pocket books.

As GM of claims, Eric must change some of his Officer leadership to get some competent staff in place. Several should not have gone past Director level, at best. Make the changes, Eric. Future depends on it.

The company must be efficient to compete long term. Expense ratios generally are much higher than our primary competition. The journey unfortunately makes some sense. But, where you choose to cut/reduce/offshore/outsource matters. The decimation of the Claim Department since 2016 has been an adverse driver. While it should not be immune from change, you don't take literally your only core competency and dismantle it for short-term frivolous metrics. The combined ratio issue, while a pricing and underwriting disaster, is exacerbated by poor claim execution in the casualty line of business. How long will Brandt take the heat for the ineffective leadership and strategy? At some point, it's them or him that has to change.

I would say it started with GS, but 2020 was a tipping point. So hard to believe..

Allstate demanded a LOT from its employees before the pandemic. Once Covid hit, they became cruel. Take a personality test & play a game to see if you are low paid and young enough to retain. Clearly they wanted to eliminate high earners, and decided to do it during the worst possible time.
If you work for Allstate, find another job cuz they’re coming for you too.
If you are insured by Allstate, well, why?
