Thread regarding Cigna layoffs

Gratitude Week

On IRIS, there's a post detailing some items that show gratitude to the employee base, including

  • a day off for "preventative care"
  • free on-site lunch on the 17th or 18th. remote workers get 25 standout points instead
  • two work-from-home weeks (christmas and 4th of July weeks)

As well as increased standout point pools, sweepstakes, more funding for site lead programs.

I will always be happy with an extra pto day but I'm kind of meh on the rest. Many people take PTO during those weeks. Not interested in the lunch and the rest seems like fluff.

25 standout points is worth around $4. That's how much gratitude they have for us.

They despise us so much that they're not even really trying to hide it. Can you blame them though? All these band 1/2/3/4 salaries add up and take away from the executives buying another vacation home.

The perk is ONLY for office aligned employees. It just states they can work at home those weeks.

I laughed upon reading that list. Who came up with those d-mb “perks”?

Here's a suggestion HR, how about you allow employees the freedom to get their work done wherever they want to get that work done. How about you show gratitude for the dedication and hard work of your employees by no longer forcing SOME people to be in a physical office when there's not one person there that they collaborate with, after they've successfully worked remotely for over a decade. Treat your workers as if you trust them to be responsible adults, drop this ridiculous in person mandate B.S., and then stand back and see the change in collective attitude. These breadcrumbs you're dropping are better than nothing I suppose, but not much. Oh, and how about you quit the smoke and mirrors and just put forth a link where folks can volunteer to be JE'd if that's what you're really after. Package folks out, don't just torture them until they quit to save yourselves a few bucks. You've got the money. Do the right thing by those who've helped make all that $$$. Be decent human beings. Consider it a development opportunity. Right now, you've got thousands of employees spreading the word about what a horrendous place this is to work. We're all telling everyone who will listen the truth about Cigna. Turn this sh*t show around by doing better by your employees. You'll still have plenty of time to count your personal wealth and buy those gucci suits. Being kind to your workers and doing well are not mutually exclusive concepts. Keep your free lunch. Untether us from FoW if you want to show gratitude. period.

@iep+1uxGGAbi a big percentage of the company isn't allowed to take pto in q4 because it's the busy season, so this is actually really nice for us

So excited that we don’t have to go in the office the weeks we would be on PTO anyway. Super generous. I feel very appreciated. Thank you!

How about better pay? Last two merits/bonus have been weak. Cigna is so out of touch and greedy that they always prioritize shareholder gratitude over employee.
