Thread regarding U.S. Bank layoffs

All Company broadcast w/Gunjan & MC

Odd for invite to go out yesterday for a meeting just one week later. Will she be speaking about her vision for USB or announcing the departure of dead weight MC members?

" @z9+1jt1zx7dc Did they mention that there will be free samosas at your local hubs? I've also heard they will also be handing out coupons for polyester mix short-sleeved shirts. Those are some really good perks. "

Flippin' awesome man! I would venture to guess there's a US based cellular service call center in our future, maybe? That would be awesome! Combine the bank with all those services PLUS we can scam customers from other banks. I mean well have the combined scamming power of all those E.I. call centers. We'll sort of be the "Death Star" of scam call centers soon. Then no one can stop us!

Probably going to talk about a bunch of initiatives which are but mere pretexts for the search for a merger of equals partner(s), another banking entity with a laggard stock price, escalating expenses and wholesale lack of organic growth, more lipservice to transforming the payments business, which is corporate speak for looking for somebody to buy the bent metal, broken glass and warped rims and tires from the wrecked Elavon acquiring business after having driven it into the ditch, through the corn field and tried to make it a rear engine vehicle with a front end engine compartment, moving critical functions out of the U.S. to Eastern Europe. Rather than confirm the market's worst fears, might be a conversation that doesn't need to be held unless you can announce the bank's acquisition by an entity with proven, accomplished and capable leadership and talent.

@hx+1jt1zx7dc It works as a band-aid and “quick fix”, the same way USB seems to handle most their problems.

Okay, so lay offs are announced, stock price goes up….. but does this translate to market depth at the higher bid/ask spread? If it doesn’t, then what’s the point?

Because of the hype. Not saying it is a good approach, but frequently when announcements of layoffs are made, stock price rises.

Layoffs and pronoun removal from email signatures help lower costs. Thus raising the price of the stock.

How are layoffs going to boost the stock price?

AC definitely su-ked. But GK got the position with far more politicking and toxicity than AC. And her first message was to state that she is not happy with the stock price and will be pursuing layoffs. The year after 10k workers were laid off.

To the last poster ... why only GK? Not like AC was any different. Say CEO and Board.

Of course we don’t matter to GK. She padded her compensation from $10 million in 2024 to over $17 million just this month. That’s all she cares about, stacking her own fortune while the rest of us get steamrolled. We’re nothing more than disposable tools in her playbook. Layoffs slash costs, boost margins, and line her pockets... end of story. Meanwhile, shareholders are waking up to the disaster unfolding under her weak, self-serving leadership. This place isn’t just a tire fire, it’s a full-blown inferno, and the people in charge are too arrogant or incompetent to even reach for the hose.

Gone are the days of Five Star Service Gauranteed, We do the right thing, We put people first...

Now it's layoffs guaranteed, we always do what's right for us to get a fat bonuses and we cut people first for our own benefit.

It's going to be a Generic statement about how we're going through uncertain/tough times but we have a plan/vision to withstand anything that might happen.

She's going to mention the layoffs and how having fewer people will optimize departments and force/drive ingenuity (AKA have 1 person do the job of 2,3, 4 people etc).

For those that do listen, just remember: you truly don't matter to the CEO. They do not know your name, they will fire you in a heartbeat if it means saving money (unless you've been ignoring the layoffs), and you are simply a means to an end for them to get a bonus and for the Board of Directors to get fat bonuses at the end of the year for doing nothing.

Look out for yourself, USB won't .
