We were told it wasn't ready for us yet and we start next week. Under Sambar

Are you sure about this?

No, you're right. I completely made it up that there were no extra monitors, docking stations, or phone hookups required for our job functions, and that work was expedited this week. Our Director sent a note saying you could try reporting to the new location, but you would need to use drop in locations, which don't have the required set up. But, yeah. I posted for funsies because i like to lie for no reason.

We were specifically told with BED not ready that it wouldn't count against us this week if we WFH. But yeah, I'm not sure. At all.

"Hmm, that’s a good 40 miles away in Jersey traffic."

It might be closer depending on where you live. No wonder why this company is sinking.

@3tix - I did not see the email you are referring to about seating, but yes- the 1425 building had no working bathrooms all day. The 1405 building, which is attached, had no plumbing issues as far as I heard (today).
And I agree- there was no need for this forced RTO until the buildings were ready. Really inexcusable for a tech /communication company this size to not know how many seats they need or how to make sure everything is in working order before sending employees there.
But then again - I really don’t think the people who made this policy care- they want people to quit.

In an email late today (9/7) they said they underestimated the spacing needs in BM and that there wasn’t enough desks to go around. The suggestion was for some people to go to Middletown instead. Hmm, that’s a good 40 miles away in Jersey traffic. I also heard that there were issues with plumbing and bathrooms being out of order. All is not as rosy as they would like us to believe. Maybe they should allow some groups to remain home while they get this sorted out.

@hwt+1osmMBkM- I gotta ask-how long ago were you last in NJ? He-l, I thought Ameritech was officially absorbed in 2002.

When I left AT&T, about a decade ago, I want to say there were 5 facilities in place still (Bedminster, Paramus, Middletown, Morristown, and some leased space in Piscataway). When the Current iteration of "T" was created circa 2005, the knives came out and there was a TON of reduction here.

Now...prior to that, in the 80s and 90s, your statement would be VERY true as to "can't go a block..."

Currently, outside the retail stores, I think it's down to a scaled back "new" Bedminster Building, Paramus, and a smaller footprint in Middletown.

NJ is way, way overstaffed. I traveled frequently to NJ for work. Could not believe the number of at&t buildings. You could not travel a block without passing 2 or 3 at&t buildings, just unreal. I worked the Ameritech region, always had to make a dollar go as far as possible, no frills whatsoever. The difference is night and day. It really rubs me the wrong way when I think about all the cutbacks and forced cancellations to save money. Then you see NJ and ask yourself WTF!

Mobility services New Jersey. It is a National product and is the part of the company keeping the rest of the business from going over the cliff.
Hopefully T will dump those old / dead assets soon.

Nice building. Seems like a good crowd trying to settle in without issues based on the learnings from Atlanta.
Despite how tough of a start it may be, most in NJ are happy to have jobs whether Bedminster or Middletown. It’s a small state and. I thing is that far apart.
Wishing all a safe, efficient RTO.

No complaints. Plenty of room, desk space and cabinets. No problem finding available drop in cubes. When I left at lunchtime though, the parking lot was filled. Didn’t see too many available parking spaces.
