My whole SCO (Staff Counsel Office) was told we would be hybrid, attorneys and support staff alike. No option given.
HR says I have a choice of hybrid or home based. My manager says it will reflect poorly on me if I am not in the office 2-3x a week.
Per usual, policy states one thing and implementation is something else entirely.
As a manager we were told by our division managers that our area is WFH or hybrid by choice. However it is our final determination of whether we permit full work from home. That being said 90% of people that choose work from home will be approved for it. However low performing employees or employees that have proven that their numbers and performance went down while working from home can have their work from home option denied and forced to go hybrid. This will be rare I can tell you so unless you are a mess or crashed and burned while working from home your choice to work from home will be approved. Our of my 22 reports only two will be required to be hybrid. One chose hybrid and one chose work from home.
Of surprise out of my 22 reports 13 of them selected hybrid for one reason or another. A few said they are tired if being stuck in the house, others said home does not support good work from hone structure, and one even said they miss office life. I thought it would be much less than 13 selecting hybrid. I thought 5 or less.

The way the email was worded is suspicious, sounds like for some people, you'll be told if you're hybrid or wfh if you're assigned choice. Not completely sure, but sounded like situational based on team.
Wait... I was under the impression you just tell them what you wanna do.. I didn’t realize there could be an option they tell you no.
