Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

Will EH and SLT be able to do it?

“Win Now” assumes a stable foundation. Many here question whether the organization is repairable, and others note it has yet to stabilize. Since the comeback strategy began, repeated executive turnover and workforce reductions make the end state hard to understand.

When integrity feels absent, professionals have to anchor to personal values—knowing when to stay, help, or move on without bitterness. The harder question is why so many remain while clearly unhappy.

If anyone has firsthand layoff experience or concrete insight that could help others make informed career decisions, it would be valuable. Merry Christmas.

@a2 Why is Nike allowing all of this. They have policies that are intended to protect employees and Nike has failed to protect them. Is it true that the ones “protecting us” are HR and they fall under legal? So really it’s the judge and the jury all in one. We have to be able to go above someone or go public? Is there a lawyer recommended? There are people posting in this forum who left because of the toxic abuse. I’m sure they would speak up now that they have nothing left to lose. This has got to stop!

Their affairs ride off into to the sunset probably sworn to secrecy with an payout and they continue to have one after another inappropriate relationships with their direct reports. Favoritism is their middle name with a hyphen of ego. There is a reason that these posts continue to be removed. Why are we protecting these so called leaders? They know who they are and they know what they have done. Their entire org knows! Have some integrity. #resilient

@a2

I had a VP make a handshake deal with me to move me to a new team I was excited and passionate about. Locked eyes and both said “deal” to one another. Doesn’t get any more clear than that.

Fast forward two weeks, manager (under the VP) puts me on a PIP, the move never happens, VP pretends like nothing ever happened.

Complete lack of integrity from multiple levels of the leadership chain. If your word is as good as your bond, then you don’t stand for anything and you’re no better than any of the other liars lacking integrity at that place.

The answer is no. The SLT is a total mess. This sites favorite person CS is on it which shows just how far the team has fallen.

💯 if it really is Mental Health. Employees should be using their med benefits to indirectly message the instability and “abuse”.

What a shame. This is why the company is going to continue eroding and will fail slowly. Moving around deck chairs on the Titanic. Merry Christmas.

@OP I think that you said it yourself “When integrity feels absent professionals have to anchor to personal values—knowing when to stay, help, or move on without bitterness. The harder question is why so many remain while clearly unhappy.”

Everyone is afraid to speak up because they watch the ones that get away with the lack of integrity. People need jobs. It’s not just unhappy, it’s abuse and toxic.

When VPs and leaders are given permission to lack integrity do we really even have a company? Do we really have policies and who do they really protect. It’s become disgusting. When you have to stay because you need a job and that requires you to be subjected to a toxic work environment every day, your mental health is suffering. Merry Christmas!
