Thread regarding F5 Networks Inc. layoffs

This is not normal.

Do not let anyone gaslight you into thinking constant layoffs are normal. This is not normal.

This post OP did not age well. Just saw a report that just about every company in the country are about to hack and slash staffing in a way not seen since the 1930s

Pivot. Go back to school to become an HVAC Technician. There is always demands. AI can't replace a bursting pipe, a bathroom leak.

@ht there is nothing agile about F5 besides the group of self proclaimed, miserable “agile certified coaches” with inflated titles and ego.

@a6 Monitor the situation closely. Note how F5's AI strategy is deteriorating. Strategic projects are being canceled. The AI bubble is about to burst. Thus, its collapse is inevitable.

@a3 They sell their shares right after layoffs, either the same day or the next, when the price increases. The next layoffs are in December, just before the shopping season.

@a6 "the (economic) AI apocalypse is coming. Companies are not profitable. They can't be profitable. They keep the lights on by soaking up hundreds of billions of dollars in other people's money and then lighting it on fire. Eventually those other people are going to want to see a return on their investment, and when they don't get it, they will halt the flow of billions of dollars. Anything that can't go on forever eventually stops."

Constant layoffs may not have been normal before the introduction of AI. Now with AI being used by most companies, layoffs will be constant norm. Get used to it. Adapt to AI. Learn how you can contribute above and beyond AI focusing on customer needs. That's the only way you'll survive. Else if you think you can continue to do the job you're currently doing for the next several years or even a decade, you are mistaken. Your job will be taken over by AI as AI learns more and more and within minutes. Therefore, you need to get creative and innovative if you want a job in the near future. This is the reality most people are going to face (including college graduates). There are so many college graduates today that can't find a job because AI is already doing most of the jobs based on what was being taught in colleges to these kids. Now they can't find a job (not only due to AI, but foreign work visa holders) and have college debt they can't afford to pay.

@OP Since 2017 when FLD became the Prophet, there has been at least 1 RIF a year (sans 2020 covid), often two per year, plus the indiscriminate realignments that are mini RIFS, and likely 3 RIFs thisyear.

Yes - This is normal (not right but "normal").

Not only is it normal, it will accelerate. And with FFIV up 200% in 2 years, the BoD (protecting shareholders, not employees) will let it continue. Buckle up.
