Terrible work environment and have another job lined up. Can anyone offer any advice on how to handle the exit process? What do they do, what can I expect?

@19t Bill's ge----o will let you know.
How’d it go?
@e8 happened to me as well.
I left Ford in 2000 and my manager didn't even know I left. Three weeks after my departure he called my personal phone and asked why I wasn't attending any meetings. My wife and I still laugh about this. I hope the management deadbeats get cleaned out for the sake of those still there. Sorry but after seeing this website I had to put in my two cents. Good luck to all.
@j8 Why are you triggered? I was the original post and realized how much I messed it up and was making fun of myself. I'm not bored, not angry anymore, just living. I hope you're okay.
I sure hope the recent posts in this thread are not Model e employees. What an embarrassing bunch. Even better they aren't employees if even a legacy Ford organization.
This behavior should be reported.
@hr triggered, you are, hmmmm?
@hc are you bored, angry or both?
@hb or maybe I have an education above 5th grade, eh?
@gj it looks like you used ChatGPT for a basic sentence
@ex what are you five, learn how to type
Low class option are available. I suggest do what’s right, put in your two weeks, don’t leave a mess, don’t burn a bridge by assuming that no one cares, that’s not always the case.
They will likely just let you go when you give notice. That happened to me and I lost a paycheck.
@OP. The exit process? Depends on what you want to achieve.
What is a must, so your last paycheck is not retained:
- Return the laptop (keep the accessories).
- Return your badge (better to avoid having any access to the buildings)
Other than that, it is up to you how you do it. You want to play the "good dude"? Send in your 2 weeks notice. Most probably, if your manager is pi---d at you, that will be your last day at work.
You want to be "sneaky"? Wait until your last working day at Ford, to request your 2 weeks notice, but mention you are going to a competitor (you don't have to say where you are going). You'll be let go the same day, and given 2 weeks of pay.
You want to be really dishonest? Start in the new job, and wait for the Ford manager to realize you are absent. You may received several extra paychecks, depending on your manager. Some Ford employees have actually 2 jobs, and somehow, they get away with it. IDK. My guess, just make sure you go to 1-2 team meetings a week, where your manager sees you. If you get a PIP, then you just got months before they let you go. If caught, just present your 2 weeks notice, and get 2 additional weeks pay. At Ford, there is no accountability.
@a2 😂
I would give them the same notice they would give you...zero. Go in drop you laptop and leave.
Well typically you will tell your boss, give 2 week notice, discuss how to wrap up your projects. Hr will have you sign some docs, it will take your laptop. There is a standard process.
@cr accurate
Someone will tell you "you can't quit, you're fired!"
Then comes the body cavity search in the security office.
Turn your laptop in to IT. Be sure to have an email receipt documenting you turned it in sent to your personal email. Don't tell your management you've done this. When you stop logging in and swioing, maybe they will figure it out. Toxic is as toxic does.
@OP S-M-I-L-E, and have a couple and relax!
You will have an exit interview with JF over teams. He will ask you about your work on the Apollo missions.
Well, Bye!
Just do it. You don't need any advice. Just leave.
This is not an airport. You do not need to announce your departure.
