OpenAI won’t deliver $100B to Oracle, struggling itself. So no backlog no pay off of data center nor Stargate. The apps are being replaced by smaller SaaS solutions much cheaper. The AWS and Google connection ki-ls the rest multi cloud. AI theme is not financially valid and AI agents in Apps are just another feature. Nobody new buys apps because AI agents… that’s true.
Time will tell.

CNN: Malcolm Ethridge sells out of Oracle
@bh indeed , look at it , -13%
@hn He should have
@bh
didn't the us government pump fiat money into intel
i don't think intel 'came back'
it kissed the behind of the folks in power (ie., got a bailout)
@fz The entertainment biz seems like a bad choice. Cinemas are ghost towns and most streaming services are losing money. Bollywood and even the ChiComs are gaining market share in international markets.
Perhaps Larry Jr. is really a corporate raider and is buying Paramount for less than book value?
@fz I wonder if they want to bring streaming to OCI
@OP With that great insights and confidence, did you all in and invest all your money shorting Oracle stock ? Just asking
Oracle is now just a bank from which to withdraw cash for other ventures. Larry knows that the end is near, so he is diversifying into entertainments etc.
No point in getting out. There is nowhere to go to escape!
This enourmous pyramide of managers should be flattened absolutely with no doubt. O functioning managment is like trying to revive and move a dynosaur forward. Frustrating day by day existense…
Some Facts are right and Some are speculative in this entire discussion.
A Highly speculative and hyperbolic claim. Oracle is a multi-billion dollar company and it will not fall that easily. Oracle's multi-cloud strategy is its core competitive advantage and main oppty for its growth. The 100$B is not an actual discussion reported in B/S of Oracle and its highly speculative.
The major fall back for Oracle is its RPO reporting which might hit back on Dec 10th. Oracle's legacy SaaS products are also a hit back with available latest products in market performing much better and Oracle is also lagging behind in AI as usual.
The Huge redtape in Oracle is also a major reason with all oldies sitting at top not allowing young generation to grow making cheap politics. All D's and VP's role has to be revisited and a major shuffle has to occur again. Still the cleanup is not yet done and waiting in Jan or Mrch.
Does Intel have the same amount of debt that Oracle took on to finance this additional low margin (currently no margin?) revenue?
Pessimist much? Intel stock price was on the ropes but it’s back with a vengance now. Oracle will do the same.
I think the current plan is generate new DC movies very cheaply using AI and then show them on a new paramount/oracle streaming service.
AI Agents give no additional value, who needs it worldwide?
The investments on Ai will only give low profit margins the way it is going.
