I used to love working here. Now I hate it, and I can't pinpoint when the shift happened.

@135 Sounds like they are as useless as a third ni-ple.
@1ac And the quiet quitting will only get worse.
@1ac Remain convinced that putting eggs in one basket for AI, along with more management announcements, shows that SK and his expat goons are clueless about today's economics. This motley crew is pathetic and worthless. They're losing profits and people because of top heavy management and over reliance that AI will save the day. It both cases, they will not.
@12r Canon global's profits saw a 26% decline in Q1 vs 2025 (mostly thanks to tariff costs and the sudden, stark increase in microchip prices thanks to AI swallowing up the market globally). They also started investing money in super conductors while the commercial print division continues to decline. There's a perception that continued investment in Ai infrastructure will lead Canon to move large portions of the commercial print division to the vendor pool with only a few divisions remaining like PPS and large format, etc. And we all know how much they love the contractors in the Philippines for day-to-day admin work.
The start of Q3 (July) could be just as bad or worse than it was in 2024. We'll see.
HR is totally useless. So much for the “Open Door Policy” in the employee handbook. HR’s office door in Burlington is literally closed every time I walk past it, LOL. Their sole job is to protect the expats from lawsuits. They should rename themselves Inhumane Renegades.
@ek how is the end near? Are ppl going to resign or will the company make more shifts, like selling off divisions? Does anyone think WTS will be sold off, because they haven’t made overall profit, over the years?
@hm In order for SK to accompany Trump, one has to be American. Given that Sammy Boy is from Japan, along with his ex pat crowd, and how they treat American workers, they are banned. They are as un-American as they get.
@ns What you say is all true. In order to do that, Sammy Sun needs to be a human being. Quite simply: that's something he is either incapable or unwilling to do. He is predatory as a reptile.
I want to see this guy’s daily itinerary. There needs to be more transparency other than the occasional newsletter photo-op.
I want to see this guy on the frontlines. Roll up your sleeves and go to a customer site for a sales meeting or service call. Go to the operation centers and take calls, process orders and enter meter reads. See what the challenges are for yourself. Utilize Google for heavy duty tasks to understand the limitations.
Better yet, reach out to those who you laid off and are still unemployed to hear about their hardships of trying to make ends meet.
Be a better man. Be a leader. Demonstrate people skills. Get out of your bubble and comfort zone.
We’re watching……
@gv Your post sums up exactly the problem area Sammy has created. And he had the audacity to say in one of those dog-and-pony shows about "negative comments." Well, Sammy Sun, there's a lot more coming due to how you callously treat people. You, Sammy, as long as you are in your position, will be the continuous target of employee wrath until the boys in Tokyo recall your backside back to Japan. Hopefully, they will take your expat pals with you!!!
@hm 😂
Awww, SK probably butthurt that Trump didn’t invite him with the other CEOs on his trip to China. He’s not in that elite class of effective businessmen. Then again, Trump doesn’t want to hear SK cry about tariffs on Air Force One for hours.
@OP I can tell you I'm more stressed out than ever before, taking out anger towards my family who don't deserve that. Thanks a lot Sammy but highly doubt he or the other bozos in charge give a cr-p!
@ek Or folks have given up and are in quiet quitting mode. Sammy owns this one.
@ek KMA, Sammy Sun for this perfect mess. You are a disgrace.
As a CSA holdover, it was the announced merger into CUSA and mass layoffs of July 2024. Dumped huge additional quotas onto the surviving team members and made life much more difficult and with reduced commission via unattainable goals set. Morale has never improved and most of us realize the end is near.
The answer is January of 2024.
Sammy knew numbers pre-Covid would never return and started a company transformation that is still in the works today.
It was also about reducing the workforce and getting those who stayed to do double the work without compensating them. Administration was tasked to pick up the pace. Service was asked to take on more calls with less techs. Sales was asked to sell equipment that had inflated pricing to ensure they received the lowest comp payout when they had to discount to sell equipment.
This company has done nothing for their employees. This company is run by a bunch of “has beens” just trying to get to retirement.
Show my one guy under the age of 50 with any power in this company. We have dinosaurs brining this company into the AI world.
@OP It started when Sammy Sun took over.
