Thread regarding Imperial Oil Limited layoffs

Trust in Imperial Oil

After all that Imperial Oil has done in the last few years, all the trust and faith in the company has evaporated.

I don’t know how Management will rebuild it??

@hm the preamble of this was a couple of years ago when EM forced the “We are EM” with complete disregard of corporate separateness. The majority shareholder has been divesting right left and centre, why would you think Imperial was immune to that? If one doesn’t realize all of this is in preparation for a future sale or divestment is just because we just don’t want to see it. Unless you are retiring the only reasonable option is to find a future somewhere else as the Imperial of old ceased to exist September 29 2025

Faith and trust?
Those died on September 29 the moment that announcement dropped. Imperial didn’t just stumble—they detonated their own credibility in full view of everyone. There’s no rebuilding from that kind of self‑inflicted collapse. What’s left now isn’t loyalty; it’s denial. Only the sycophants are still clinging to a ship that’s already taken on more water than truth.

You took a wrong turn the moment you think they want to rebuild trust. IOL Management is simply executing marching orders from Houston to keep their bosses happy. They have no interest or desire to rebuild trust. They will sell off assets against the interest of IOL if it keeps their EM bosses happy and gets them a better ranking. Sad to watch. Get out now if you haven't already jumped!

There will always be Canadian sheep. We know this because so many of you chose to stay after 2020

They won't. They don't care. Not until it affects their bottom line, their own jobs or there are public legal problems.
