Thread regarding U.S. Bank layoffs

Wouldn’t it be lovely to spend the holidays in peace?

To work at a place where you don’t have to dread the hatchet falling the moment you walk back through the door?

"@hk have you ever worked before? "

Umm ... yeah. But never against my own will. If I don't like the environment or job, I find another one. It isn't exactly rocket science but I also stay disciplined in saving and investing so got a lot of FU money.

There will be layoffs for years to come. The bank is circling the drain and this is what failing companies do. We will have layoffs every month for the rest of this year.

@j2 Genuinely agree that working at a place that doesn't keep up to date, and doesn't let you exercise your talents can lead to losing those skills you previously exercised.

One should never sell their soul or peace so it is controlled by external factors

@hk have you ever worked before? It's always a tradeoff, what harm you help your company do against people to maximize profits against your tolerance for that behavior. The trade off is what they pay you, and how comfortable that can make you, for your time and your soul. Also, that's not the topic of this post. The topic of this post is that the owners of the company (the shareholders, via upper management) can take away that comfort that they gave you in exchange for ripping off poor people at the blink of an eye, and regularly do.

Dreading tomorrow’s return. I feel like I’ve lost all my skills and confidence working here. Something has got to give.

Peace is up to you as it comes from within. One should never sell their soul or peace so it is controlled by external factors. Buy less, save more and watch that peace grow!
