There are different kinds of bonuses. A key contributor award, is just that: for a team member that contributed in a way that stood out. Given at the end of the year, paid out in Feb of the next year. Not everyone will get one. Then for certain level employees, above a K, we are eligible for merit increases in March. These are based on yearly performance and his goals. Retention bonus would be for new integration employees or employees who may be applying out and have been recognized as valuable-an incentive bonus with stipulations, so would be something you sign. These are all very good things!
Post ID: @hipe+1eqyRobO that is not how it normally plays out here. They are fortunate as normally a retention bonus means you have one toe out the door.
You can be offered a retention bonus and not lose your job. I know of several people who were granted a retention bonus to stay through acquisition integration and are here several years later.
A retention bonus is only paid if they have told you that you are being laid off or you have turned in your notice and they want you to stay a set amount of time. If you leave before the date you agree to, you do not get the retention payment. A KCA is a key contributor award. We have gotten those over the years on an individual basis if we did work that brought good recognition to the department or company. Then, there is the yearly bonus normally paid out in March. That is based on how much $$$ the company admits to making. These are three separate and distinct things. Legacy Centene and am positive I know what I am talking about.
@hhbj+1eqyRobO I’ve been with this company for many years , doing multiple jobs , only making one person pay. I absolutely do my part and more at 110 percent.. I didn’t get the “ bonus”. Should I be expecting a pink slip in the near future? Thanks in advance. I’m not sup ,etc etc .
As a supervisor I can tell you this is a retention bonus and they just called it an award. And every single care manager on my team got one. Basically all care managers and program coordinators got them. Sounds like CSRs also got them. No management got them, well supervisors and managers sure didn't...
Sounds like just an extra incentive. Why certain people are getting them is a mystery, but it's not a retention bonus. I had one and it was 15x more than that amount and I had to sign an agreement stating I was going to stay through the end of the year.
Iam getting a KCA for $1000 in February and I get bonuses every year. I did ask one of my coworkers if she was getting one and she said no which was weird bc they've been here longer than me ?
It is a Key Contributor Award, not a retention bonus.
It's not a retention bonus unless you sign something stating that. Is it a bonus to incentivize some? Sure.
Retention bonus. Because they know everyone wants to quit.
This is a retention bonus, labeled an award.
People in my department have been told we are receiving a "Key Contributor Award" in February. I am not in a call center.
Was told not to discuss with coworkers as not all coworkers would be receiving the award. I don't know what would make a person eligible for the award or disqualified for it.
My position is not a bonus eligible one. This is an "award" not a bonus.
I don't know if positions that are bonus eligible are also eligible to recieve the award. (Maybe it is a way to give non-bonus people a little something extra)
