Plenty of money around for a new CFO.

@hg The 5% is a net goal. They will lay off much more than 5% and then hire new people to get back to a net reduction of 5% .The new hires will of course not be vested yet and probably get less money than the people they replace. Doing that every year or so keeps the labor costs lower

@h0, If L3H stares 5% reduction in people they really mean 10% to 15% or more.

The 63 layoffs in Orlando are linked to the sale of the Advanced Laser Systems Technology unit to Perimeter Solutions Group.
A Van Nuys, California, facility closure initiated in 2024 included planned workforce reductions spanning through September 2026.
These actions are part of the "LHX NeXT" strategy to streamline operations, which included a roughly 5% company-wide workforce reduction announced in 2024. L3Harris announced in January 2026 the sale of a controlling interest in its Space Propulsion and Power Systems business.
Instead of organic growth, value unlocked for stakeholders by selling things off and RIFs company wide.

Rumor is major SW RIF immiment. Level 3 and under replaced by AI. Only hiring level 4+. New grads and intern to full time offers will be reduced significantly.

AI scared the cr-p out of every pencil pusher in the company. Now they're trying to get jobs doing touch labor union work with people they used to talk down to. "Engineers" who never picked up a soldering iron are trying to displace union people that have been doing it for years.
Our id--t leadership probably still thinks "anyone can do this work".
That's a quote from a former operations director who was fired from Clifton a couple of years ago.
(The company says he "took another opportunity outside the company").
Yeah, OK

When spring comes to Clifton, some folks who were laid off in April 2024 and rehired in 25 will be let go again in 26. But no matter how many times they get crapped on, they will still haunt company parties as a guest and beg someone to talk to someone to get them back in. While they're waiting for the phone call that will never come, they'll have their faces pressed against the perimeter fence looking for a familiar face they can call out to... sad but true.

Block just laid off 4000 people 40% of its workforce to be replaced by AI
