I used to love working here but now the culture is just plain terrible, it's like there is always a dark cloud hanging over, and everyone is miserable, looking for a way to leave.

@14j or Hispanic my clinic out right speak Spanish ln meetings and get annoyed when they are called out. When you are “ expected “ to speak Spanish in order to take care of patients… we have gone way too DEI!
I can speak for centerwell clinics when I answer what has happened. They are so focused on diversity that white people do not feel welcome. They have open discussions about hiring just black people. It's very uncomfortable to be a white person working in this environment.
I am not looking to leave, I want to retire from here but I don’t think it will be on my terms. There has been so many RIFs that causes so much anxiety and stress. I love my job and my team. We are making a difference but changing leadership, Stars issues and more has devalued the company and we are not the shining star we used to be.
@hf I think the team culture matters. The area I work in has an awesome RVP and all of the leaders that report to him treat their teams well. Not disagreeing that other areas may be toxic, I'm fortunate.
@ta That is how it usually works.
@t4 Do we know when this will happen? I guess after Early Retirement, will be RIFs?
@hf Early retirement coming soon with lower age, 52. Then RIFs. I heard the goal is 2,000 but not sure.
I feel like Humana pays you enough that it is hard to leave and sets you up to have to take their abuse. I'm 58 and I have never worked anywhere as abusive as this. It isn't just my leader either, it seems to be pretty consistent across the board. The also engage in ageism so I know my days are numbered. They offer early retirement which is basically the same thing as a layoff with just getting paid 2 weeks severance for every year. Woohoo. You have to be 55 which is how they get rid of older employees. Toxic is too kind of a word for what my department experiences daily.
@as Same on insurance side. The entire C suite, except 1, are all new and from banking or finance. No one knows the business. Now hiring more execs from outside. Government products are getting more difficult to manage. Driving this company into the ground and letting good talent leave and a lot of RIFs.
That's a terrific question. I've been with CW for 2 years now and came from another large, similar org. To be true, it IS a leadership problem in CW. We have several strategy people who just do not seem to know what they're doing but do it with great arrogance. Front line people are tired of being tossed around and blamed for the failures stemming from the decisions made by leadership/strategy. There are so many leaders in CW on the PCO side that it's hard to keep up with who is who and the difference because they all overlap and no one is on the same wavelength. They need to keep managers and staff, the only components with any value at all.
