@awk lo yea they tried that had 2 people from Microsoft come in for us to demo our job. Their reply was there’s no f-ing way we can help you let alone do it. It’s way too complicated and to many disparate skill sets. But the vp Anthony f… kept telling everyone yea AI can do you job that and off shore lol nope. Gonna get some people fired hopefully starting with him when customers leave for breach of contract for not getting their changes lol.

@awk If they started flushing the Cary AVP's they'd save a lot of time and money. Especially in GTO.

"Now they are expected to all more than double their production to just still come up short of what they lost by laying me off to save money."

Not a problem! They can use CoPilot!

@1n7 I can confirm too from teammates in India that they were denied raises told they have to work on festival days and no planned pto for rest of year. Many of them have started calling in sick now in protest. I was just let go and now the off shore people are sc--wed even more from my team as I had to help guide them on most things. Now they are expected to all more than double their production to just still come up short of what they lost by laying me off to save money.

@2nb pretty sure you're talking about WA... quite a few members of leadership came over from pepsi with a former CISO, who has since moved on... personally, I'm curious how some of them have kept their jobs, while many of their directs have been laid off...

H1B — it even sounds like a virus. It infected the U.S., gutted the domestic job market, and corporate leaders never wanted a cure because they're the vectors.

@2sk Are you trolling? Because the impact of the H-1B program on the American workforce is a legitimate and urgent concern. This isn't just about new grads struggling to get hired; it's also about experienced professionals being laid off, undercut, or even forced to train their own replacements due to cost-driven hiring practices. People who invested in their education and contributed to their companies for years are being displaced, not because of lack of skill, but because of a system that allows employers to prioritize cheaper, more compliant labor over domestic talent.

@2qp it's true though. Look at your Cary location. What is the ratio? I saw a Cary group photo on the home page recently and it was pretty dark looking.

@2p4 please don't categorize everyone who still works there. You don't know everyone's situation or reasons for staying. It's great you are in a job you adore, but please learn some compassion.

@2p4 Same here! I left a few months after returning to the office after COVID.

The TCS deal was the final straw for me. As a distinguished Senior Software Engineer, I wasn’t about to sit quietly while the company handed off critical IT functions to a vendor, stripping internal teams of real influence and turning leadership into a hollow title. That deal wasn’t progress. It was a form of corporate oppression disguised as a “partnership,” a clear signal that expertise was being sidelined in favor of optics and control.

I refused to be a pawn in that game. Staying meant watching my skills and autonomy outsourced, my voice muted, and my role reduced to window dressing in a system increasingly driven by global vendor consolidation rather than internal talent.

For anyone still stuck in the middle of this chaos, know this: you’re not powerless. But real power comes from choice. And sometimes the smartest move is to take your worth and walk.

@2gr I left MetLife in Q3 of 2023 for a much stronger role—better pay, real leadership, and none of the hollow org-chart theater. I’m valued, trusted, and surrounded by people who actually do the work, not just talk in circles about it.

As for why I’m here? I check in now and then to remind myself what I walked away from, and, apparently, to watch people stuck in resentment lash out when someone holds up a mirror. You’re still inside the same broken system, complaining about the fire but refusing to leave the building. That’s not loyalty—it’s just inertia.

You can try to insult your way out of that truth, but deep down, you know the difference between someone who moved on—and someone who didn’t.

How does it feel knowing your job is a façade—an empty title propped up for appearances while the real work is quietly outsourced or handed off through shady backdoor deals with greasy WITCH shops? You strut around thinking you’re in a position of leadership, but in reality, you're a glorified mouthpiece, a corporate decoy put in place to project control while every meaningful decision is made without you.

You're not leading. You're being handled. Undermined at every turn, outmaneuvered by middlemen, and kept just high enough to take the fall when things implode. You're a placeholder in a collapsing system that runs on inflated titles, artificial org charts, and an endless cycle of churn. And deep down, you probably know it.

Heard the same from a reliable source who indicated the first round will come from secondary locations closing and cutting those folks first. Next will be extreme shrinking of the Cary workforce as many of these positions get shifted to India. Met will look entirely different entering 2026.

@1n7 who is the VP in Texas? Is it SS who runs AI?

The true story is all of the budget is run by one VP and he's sitting in Texas. If you're not in his good graces, you're sc--wed. He holds the entire purse, don't ask me how given the fact his budget numbers were 4 MILLION in the red at the beginning of the year. What's worse is the fact his number one bearded minion AVP, who vapes every hour, is the one calling all the shots.

Met is hiring in India with ridiculous offers to get anyone they can trick into accepting. They will eventually slim this workforce by 30% (per svp) as they are over hiring intentionally now. Those accepting offers will need to give 200% to keep their jobs. Those who don’t give their life to met will be back in the job market by 2027.

After the major shift to India, quality and services will plummet, Group customers will be running to get away, and stock prices will drop like a rock. Get ready investors. You’re in for a sheet storm.

How lame is it that management pushes the survey on people? Now I don't trust those awards from any company. In fact, if a company gets such an award, it almost guarantees a sh---y corporate culture.
