@102 do you know which BU and Location
Happening now in North America.
I heard Israel was also affected.
In France the first round already concerns managers.
@pq in France ( Ansys part) the first. Rumor is in the next round they fire Managers
@hc Is this the second wave globally? Or the third?
A colleague based in France was let go.
@fm I agree that this layoff might ultimately be the best thing for your career. While I am lucky to still be here, the office environment has become incredibly draining and lifeless. A recruiter recently reached out to me about an AI chip design startup. Even though my background wasn't the right fit for that specific role, it really opened my eyes. I am now seriously looking into similar opportunities.
I was cut back in March and based on conversations I've had with my ex colleagues, it's the best thing that could have happened to me. It sounds like a dumpster fire now especially for US IT. I have a great job now that pays 20k more than Ansys was paying me. I loved Ansys, and I would have retired there, and then Synopsys came in and took a big sh-t all over it. Then you look on LinkedIn and see certain HR VPs getting "People awards" and other nonsense. Yep, great job on laying off 5k people, you're a he-l of a leader. Ansys will go down in history as one of the great tragedies of the corporate world. A healthy, progressive and thriving company that got its knees cut out from under it by a bunch of AI obsessed nitwits.
@dd what function is you role?
@dd I'm sorry to hear that.
I am from Ansys legacy in France, and the call with my manager happened today.
@bw Not yet for Ansys legacy. It is just about to happen this week.
@as Already happened in France.
How about Canada?
It is happening very soon in France
