No one will get fired if employees use company laptop to check personal email, news sports news and tech news for 20 mins in the morning and 20 mins afternoon.

I’m sure 100% of employees check their personal email, stock market, news or sports news everyday !!

If you slack at work, browse internet or trade stocks for many hours everyday, you can get into trouble !!

@h8 it still doesn't mean the employer must allow employees to access non work related stuff on their work issued computer. taking a break is one thing. don't do it with the company laptop. this is really simple stuff.

You can access other websites like email or news or sports but do not browse for 2-3 HOURS everyday or 3-4 times a week.

Employees can take a break and during their break, they can check news or sports or tech websites. Legally, employers must allow 30 mins lunch break and 20 mins break twice a day (40 mins) if you work 8 hours a day.

Cisco can track you down to the keystroke if they want to.

If your company owns the laptop, they are (and should be) tracking your internet browser activity.

are the company who make internet security products using internet security products installed on the laptop that they own to ensure that they are getting value for money from the employees that they pay? surely not.

There are things on your issued laptop watching far more than what sites you visit, you are under constant surveillance, behavior analytics, etc.

Assume that you are being watched. Using a work device to do something other than work is asking for problems.

even if they're not tracking you, you should just never access anything not work related on your laptop. what kind of absolute amateur move is this?
