Thread regarding T-Mobile layoffs

600 Layoffs in Simon's Org on 3/24

The real number of layoffs in Jeff Simon's org just on 3/24 is roughly 600, not 400 as reported in other threads.

But don't worry, the India build out is full steam ahead. Shamelessly, they even got rid of people who went to India to help stand up the office.

Good luck to everyone.

@h7 Funny thing is, T-Mobile pre-Sprint, didn't have the USGCI problems because it was entirely based in the US. DT was an investor. Because Sprint was largely owned by Mr. Son, and the feds didn't want tech migrating to Japan, Sprint had pretty strict USGCI issues. When the merger happened, all the USGCI BS came down upon legacy T-Mobile, and we had to use the awful tools from Sprint.

That USGCI stuff was 2 years of wasted time I'll never get back.

@g9 USGCI outsourcing is an accident waiting to happen.

@cf I work in gov and had to go through 6 outsourced business tech reps to finally get to a rep that could help. 6! USGCI states all gov and fed have to be handled in the US, so I completely agree with your assessment, as sad as that makes me.

This is unfortunate, however the plan is to move all jobs to India unless the work and worker is required to be in the US.
