Thread regarding USAA layoffs

Wow. So much silent...

I have never seen this site so much silent. No new topics since long or people have stopped posting. Seems company is doing well. I think yesterday was good employee meeting focused on a lot about members & employees.

I’ve read the post enough. It’s pretty clear We have enough overhead to justify at least 1/3 of the company to get the axe. So come on Juan, cut away and increase our bonus back to 2010 days!

No news is good news. Or maybe employees have just become apathetic to it all.

@ch it’s been so silent - I’m (personally) starting to think (and I’m probably wrong) this is bigger than layoffs.

There’s been a lot happening quietly with small(er) banks like ours. Weird takeover structures. 5/3rd & Comerica (there entire HR,C-suite,compliance,audit) were fired - not laid off.

@h7 for those that know this reference, hi g-y.

@h8 exactly. Why are we silent? It’s a layoff rumor site, and we know exactly what’s coming and when. And that’s why historically this site has always known 6 & 9 months in advanced when and generally what cosa’s were being laid off. These decisions aren’t last minute, they are planned out so far in advanced and luckily we’ve had some EA or director come here and give us a heads up.

But also, what’s there to say? 2/3’s of the employees voted our jobs away to either AI or to be shipped off to India. And you all would still make the same vote again, so not learning. So there’s nothing to discuss.

There’s no reasoning with d-mb people. How can I try and “network” or plan a fix with people that are actively the root cause of the very problems we’re in?

This company, RTO, or CEO so doesn’t matter when our jobs are all about to be eliminated, there’s no jobs to apply to, the jobs are just auto declining, they equivalent jobs are now reducing pay by 20-30%.

Someone please start leaking areas getting laid off. It’s almost too quiet (here in the bank at least). Getting afraid this is the big bang, the big sell/ acquisition.

The entire bank will be going through a major transition next year, a lot of ED & Directors will be let go or demoted, along with a ton of non-member contact roles, and those getting to keep their role will now be doing almost triple the work with no increase in pay.

This is what happens when you hire different consulting companies every other year, they think their method is the right one and the prior company was wrong.

Then in 2 years a new consulting company will come in and tear down everything and once again blame the prior company.

I think we see what’s coming in 2026. We all have been applying externally, no one is getting interviews.

We’re seeing billions being handed out to foreign governments. Trillions to tech companies.

Meanwhile the government is distracting us daily with poor AMERICAN Mexican moms screaming for help, good ole Pete committing war crimes against fishermen, these tech bros literally destroying middle America, oh and the real time line shift: when the FBI shot Charlie Kirk and blamed a kid who wasn’t there that day and a dad who didn’t turn him in dating a “trans” guy who is neither g-y not trans.

So, sure. The meeting was great. Clouds are also made of sugar. Left is down. And authenticity is code for laziness, idiocy and/or prejudices. Silent but we all see, and taking notessss.

Voted our jobs away. Voted our parents healthcare away. Voted our farms and food supply chain away.

Eff you red hats. This is exactly why we need education AND why when you’re educated you vote blue. It’s not indoctrination, it’s knowledge. Lack of knowledge turns into the powerful owning us ALL as slaves.

@en have you not been paying attention? During that impromptu meeting to announce the last round of layoffs, Mike Moran all but guaranteed mass layoffs for Q1 2026.

Who tf cares. You all were so crazy about eggs. Well now guess what? As we said, the orange goblin and his creditors are shipping all the jobs to India, put a 100% tax on literally every and made it illegal to stop companies from automating ALL OF OUR JOBS AWAY, while taking grandma’s Medicaid away. But hey, at least Mexicans can’t pick strawberries anymore for $3.44/hr.

So yah. It doesn’t matter if USAA is breaking laws (what laws), or they are firing us. Every other company (other than Costco) is doing it too. Fat ugly racism is a cute joke until you, your bleach blonde hair dresser and nana are all on OF begging for pennies.

Could be the silence before the toughest storm. Or people just don't care anymore, detached from reality. This is more concerning than people verbalizing what they feel or think.

There is nothing happening to indicate a Q1 shakedown - why don’t you speculate in stocks instead ? Business is good and from What I hear 2026 will be smooth unless some weirdo VP starts mass recruiting taking in people shed from other banks.

I think the stages are: denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance.

Does the anger really ever go away with a place like this that turned their back on what they once stood for?

It’s because most in the bank are bracing themselves for that 10.5 earthquake in Q1 that is drastically going to change the bank, reorgs and transformations, which will lead to mass layoffs in February.

Don’t be surprised if they change the payout of the bonus to exclude those laid off in early Q1.

Thank you Juan!

I’m really hoping for 2026 we really looking at some of our Business Processes and bury some golden cows.
