Why the heck are we paying people to give pep talks in India? This only means a plane load of people are taking their spouses on paid vacations.
How sad people are getting laid off while others get free vacations.

@f7 is that not a breach of the IBM Business Conduct Guidelines ? Seems that there's a different set of rules and guidelines for managers and executives visiting countries outside the US on company business ? or is it personal business ? It's a matter of ethics. IBM HR is an ethically challenged organization under the current CEO and the HR VP. There should be an audit or even an investigation into what IBM managers do on their so called business travel trips, particularly outside the US.
@c5 I do not know about the red light places but I do know for a fact that people attended weddings and stopped over some beach towns on company dime.
Quiet privileges ? what are those ? Visits to the local red light districts and patronizing the offerings there ? Sounds just like executives at IBM.

Because it’s not about the pep talk. It is and always about some positions come with quiet privileges. Traveling to India and other exotic locations are some of the benefits.

In this day and age why does anyone need to travel and give pep talks to folks in India ? It is ridiculous and nothing but a waste of time and money. If you are stupid enough to cut good employees in the US, cut these ridiculous travel perks and je-ks first. Who needs to see the fat oaf Krabanaugh preaching to the Indian masses, packed like sardines in some auditorium in Bangalore to tell them to take more worthless education and courses in AI or Quantum ?? Why can't Zoom, Teams or even Webex (communication tools) be used instead ? This is a waste of money coming from the people who are supposed to be the smartest in the room.
