@vg I keep hoping Trump will catch wind of all the RIFs and offshored positions.
The numbers come from a source of truth. Naming that source might expose the person who shared (i.e. me).
Are these numbers real? If so, it does not tell a good story for the American worker.

are we offshoring American Health insurance dollars to India funding Russia too?
Good numbers. Don’t know where they’re from or if they’re true, but for the sake of argument, let’s say they’re accurate. What would be really helpful is metrics on for those employees that left, how many new positions were filled and where they were.
It’s not the absolute numbers that make the story, but rather the activity between or within the categories.
Let’s say that there’s 50000 employees, half here, half there. 20000 leave. Where’d they leave from? If there are no hires, that’s one story: pure cutbacks. If 20000 are hired, that’s good. If those 20000 that left are here and the 20000 are hired are there, that’s a different story. Let’s say a “not good” story.

Let's see if this next one gets removed
It is about employment numbers
@ny Agreed
@he I have had posts removed that didn't mention names but were accurate on upper level workings of the company. My guess is Elevance has provided some level of compensation to whomever runs this site to delete certain posts.
@h4 If there are names that usually will get them removed unless it is public facing execs.
Posts under this chat have been removed. Why and who is getting them removed?
What exactly is a silent RIF? Is it a RIF meeting that is silent and nobody speaks?
H-1B visa is unlimited for organizations like college and universities.
https://www.newsweek.com/h1b-visa-immigrants-tech-jobs-impact-college-grads-2106392
"The H-1B has exploded in the past few decades. Around 400,000 visas were approved in 2024, more than twice the number issued in 2000, with the majority of these being renewals of existing visas, rather than new applications. Most of these foreign workers are employed by large tech companies like Amazon, Microsoft, and Google, who pay to keep hold of foreign-born workers."
