At the end of the day what's important is not that there was little pruning here and a little rightsizing there, but rather that we are all working for world renowned Oracle, that we are all in the same boat, Larry's boat, and that by all rowing together we can better enjoy our team's contributions and the success of the collective.

LE does the right thing.... for LE! That's what everyone needs to be aware of. The "company" is unimportant to LE. It's just the money that he can squeeze from it that counts.
The winning formula for LE is, acquire a company, talk it up, like it's going to be a major win for the company, watch the stock go up and LE's net worth also. Then, ignore the new recruits, squeeze as much money out of the new acquisition as possible, layoff as many as needed to make the stock go up more.
Then, just repeat. Very simple. I suspect that LE is a simple-minded man in reality. He's just got a formula that works for him. Does it work for Oracle's employees...? NO, but it's not intended to. Whatever happens in the bowels of the company with those disgusting greedy people that work there, is of little interest to LE. He doesn't care about your job, your family, your anything!
You have to see it from his perspective. Know where you are working, and then get your resume together and get out.

He sure made a mess of things. He was built an incredible company....but was too cheap update product, hired the wrong people that promoted the wrong people. When a company hates customers and employees....yet stock is doing good....something is wrong.
