Thread regarding ON Semiconductor Corp. layoffs

Layoffs in Sept

Heard from a colleague in EMEA that they are being laid off, others affected too. Is thus just within ISG?

Also heard AMG have a hiring freeze into 2026...more job cuts looming there too...

F**k those ppl who got saved by John B. You know who you are. There are multiple ppl who can run circles around you all. That includes ppl in growth. You let go of great workers and keep the cr-ppy ones. I hope that place burns down to be honest.

I hope the people in this chat praising management and the company feel real stupid as they were truly convinced this company was going good and that management had us in their best interests. They lied to us, used us, then discarded us. In normal onsemi fashion.

@j07 easy money $$$. Browsing the web while working is super common at most companies. If you have a role where you have zero downtime to browse, then you're working way too hard for the $$$'s. Good luck to you all.

@hw7 F*cked up how they play with people's emotions, they should of just warn people at least. better to be warned than just getting rid of people with no warning at all. a lot of people depend on this job to support their family! I'm sorry to everyone that will be going thru this tomorrow, my heart hurts for all of you and I hope whoever gets laid off, can find somewhere better to work at!

Yet, feign that your constant bi--hing about the site and its leadership is somehow enlightening them. Just fu--ing quit. You are helping no one by staying including yourself. Take your narcissistic, psychopathic talents elsewhere.

@gyn The floor manager is Toxic. He comes and stir things up. It's always a rush with that guy. What's the rush now? The manager for the process Techs is better. He Atleast brings calm to his workers. We need real leadership during this time not someone who goes MAI when things are hard and passes his responsibility to others.

We all need to be positive thinking. this negative thinking is only going to bring us down more. If some don’t like the way it feels it’s better you find somewhere more stable and more reliable. For those who want to stay better to just support your co-workers than to argue and gaslight when we all know the situation that is very inevitable. As a whole is either go down with the ship or abandon ship but this thread is very toxic.

SEAN K IS LEAVING THE HUDSON SITE. If that’s not a tell sign then it’s ok for those who still believe. Management roles are changing. Shutting down our future program and pawning it off to CZ. Loss of funding. No raises or bonuses. Guys wake up. Just don’t want to see anyone put in a bad position, they don’t care about the employees they just care about numbers and what fits best for them. Would love to hear what Brent has to say about this if anything at all. My guess layoffs in between reviews and bonuses.

@g08 management su-ks. Half of them are not even present and the other half lies to us. You probably work in management and hence why you riding hard on the a-s. This place has gone to sh-t. No funding no structure. Mind you we all not getting raises and most likely no bonuses except hassane and people. We were forced to use our benefits ( earned time ) and now in the negatives or zero. The list keeps going on. Don’t say you enjoy working here and we are doing good when everyday we have to worry if the lights stay on what “good” company goes through that regularly every week?

@gw1 The LTA with Global Foundries and the European grant say it all. You can choose to look past this but you can't pretend to be in shock when it happens. Hudson is sinking. It's a matter of time before we capsize. Do not be fooled. Ride it out but keep your eyes open for your next job.

I will not believe this news until I see it. They NEED us for the technology. I have seen such development. The job does not appear finished yet. Many smart men - the work will continue until the project is DONE. And NOBODU can take that away from us. Hudson will not fall

@gqa Man give it up. It's in front of your face! What, are you under the vp's armpit? You are riding hard for this hypocritical management. All they do is lie.
This is a pattern. Look what has happened back to back last year and now the future program gets pulled. You mentioned funds, what funds? This site is done for. Pack it up and leave or wait for your severance. Stop the boot licking guy.

@gq2 We will see. If they don't deliver on the funds for the building move in the next few months, this will not be a good sign.

The fact they promoted 200mm as our next big thing and then handed it off also isn't a good sign.

It doesn't mean Hudson is dead, however.

@g08 grateful? Are you kidding me? There may not be a grand scheme, but your delusions of grandeur will do nothing but leave you blindsided. This response tells me that you'll be the one crying the loudest when it finally closes. Don't be naive. If you aren't protecting yourself and your livelihood, you are foolish.

You all on here need to relax and be grateful that management is doing everything they can to keep Hudson open. There is no grand scheme to hurt us. They are trying hard to keep the business going and we should be thankful to have our jobs. I for one love it here and appreciate management for their hard work.

@dwz they are asking people to come in to help with their numbers that's all. This management is cooked. Listen, once they can perfect the 200mm they'll take that knowledge to the Czech republic and shut down the Hudson site. This is what on semi does. Just look at their track record.

For anyone wondering why the consolidation was pushed from January to March, it wasn’t because of employees. Management miscalculated the timeline and is now scrambling to hide it like always with lies.
The sudden pressure on numbers right before the 2-week shutdown they scheduled is just leadership trying to cover their own planning mistake.
Let’s be real, you can’t rush production, harass people, or ignore safety to make up for a deadline leadership blew. Employees aren’t the issue. Bad planning and management are.

Hudson site
It’s strange seeing management pushing people so hard over numbers right after a company planned 2-week shutdown. Everyone knows production will dip when the facility is literally closed. Honestly that’s on leadership, not the workforce.

What’s becoming a concern for a lot of us is the way this pressure is being delivered. Some employees have mentioned that the constant comments, tone, and blame are starting to feel like borderline harassment. When people get talked down to or singled out for something they can’t control, that’s a problem And honestly, the push to ‘catch up’ this fast is not safe. Rushing work in manufacturing is how mistakes happen accidents, injuries, quality failures, all of it. If leadership wants strong numbers long-term, stressing and rushing people after a shutdown is the worst way to get them.

The company needs to remember that morale, safety, and basic respect matter. Pressuring employees over a shutdown management chose doesn’t help retention, doesn’t help quality, and doesn’t help the reputation of the company. Treat people right that’s how you get results, not by harassing the workforce and expecting employees to do management's job. We don't get paid management pay, so get on the floor and manage the right way.
