Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

Big brother Spying

Has it begun?

Are HR not supposed to inform us what the policy change is?

In Germany it has to go through the Union. They can’t randomly start doing these sorts of things.

Have any processes been observed on your devices?

@ke OMG, HR only purpose is to protect the company. Are you a newbie in the business world, if not you're the d-mbest person on the planet

14 years of IT career almost working on niche skills all the time first time in my life I have been made redundant after 4 years in DXC they can take my laptop and do whatever they wish.

The hierarchy and management, are so detached and remote from their people that they don’t even know who works for them! Madness, what a sh-tshow…

I hope everyone realizes how incredibly dirty and unethical this is. I hope people understand what this does to a culture. HR should be embarrassed and ashamed for letting this go on.

Luckily I am fired and I returned the laptop. Now they can install whatever they want on it. It feels good being unemployed for a while.

@gw A pathetic attempt at scaremongering there, considering what platform x is actually used for...

@gw I'm doing exactly what I'm told. When management care to decide that is!! And we all know they'll change the plan long before anyone finishes it. AI is very welcome to declare my role no longer necessary. Send someone to collect my laptop if it's actually worth paying the postage on it.

AI infused platform - X-X has been installed on all laptops, which does iMonitor (intelligent monitoring) of all that happens in the laptop. All of that is loaded and auto analyzed by a large language model (DXC llm) and reports go to your management / regional management.

Moral of the story. Do your work diligently

@f4 On the basis I want out, and don't need another job, just a redundancy pay out would be a nice bonus. Not that I've ever had a bonus from DXC. I'll take my chances and play the game, till I get bored of it.

@ed suspect if you end up on that list you'll get a pip and dismissed rather than made redundant...

Sounds like an easy way out. I'm endlessly away on teams, I hardly send or receive any DXC emails. I'm sure I'll come up on a list and someone can say looks like this chap doesn't do much - get rid. It'll be irrelevant how much I know, or what I do. AI says email volume and teams status is all that matters! Just don't get caught out with something you shouldn't have on there so they can't just dismiss you!

works council Germany ruined any medium long term chance of DXC CSC HP to survive.

No sympathy for these part timers from me.

It's happening for sure. Apart from anything else Raul said it was.

Complain to your union rep or country works council. It's against all sorts of agreements, laws and much else.... Apart from some countries where they have no employee protection of course.

Our manager forwarded us an email stating that the company wants to identify efficiencies and inefficiencies, and may start closely monitoring devices. A similar email was sent last year, but not much came of it. As far as I know, everything you do on a company device can be monitored and recorded, and this should be mentioned somewhere in the large stack of documents you signed when you joined the company. From what I understand, if you casually browse the internet and avoid downloading suspicious .exe or .zip files or playing games, you should be fine. However, if you get flagged, the administrator could pull logs and see what you’re doing with the device during company time.
