Eliminating salaried management and replacing them with key holders and leads is a precursor to bankruptcy and total liquidation. This happened to me at Toys R Us when I worked there, I was at toys r us for 10 years. What is now happening at Belk is identical to what happened at toys r us about two or three years before they filed bankruptcy. Please you all hard working good belk folks please be aware of this.

Another sign you are fixing to shut down ?
If your store manager is suddenly missing. Haven’t seen a store manager or regional in weeks? That’s a red flag.
@gn. You are so right.
@at——i wouldn’t make a blanket statement and say retail is miserable across the field. That’s not necessarily true. Retail owned and operated by private equity firms is typically miserable to work for, and specifically when the company keeps everything a secret, that’s not only a miserable place to work, it also is probably a company that is lying to its employees.
Another red flag was when we were told to post job ad's but not hire anyone. That in and of itself says something is very wrong.
Sad to say that many still have the blinders on and will believe anything that their regional tells them.
@aq Unfortunately retail is absolutely miserable across the field. Companies struggle, but instead of restructuring “penthouses” they keep all worthless money su-kers on their tops boards of directors and reducing working force. It’s becoming intolerable.
That is happening at my store. What they don't realize is how much everyone hates working for Belk. So many people trying to get out of there.
@ac---really? sweetie, it's happening all over belk. some stores are just one manager and the rest key holders.
What stores is this happening at and where did you get your information
I’d be very surprised if belk stays afloat another 3 years. I strongly believe it’s way worse than anyone knows, that’s why they stay silent about everything.
