Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Having ATT on your Resume

You are better off putting in $100B+ Telecom and Wireless Firm. ATT on a resume profile screams Sloth, Inefficiency, and Executive Incompetence. The longer you were there the worse it is for you in seeking new employment. Look around the office and you see the island of misfit toys that can't make it anywhere else. The executive management is full of these castaways as well.

When I worked there, there was layoffs in my department. All the laid off employees were picked up by new employers, and none made it to the unemployment line.

So, they got comparable new jobs, and severance from AT&T. I'm happy with AT&T on my resume.

What's worse is putting your stupid pronouns on your resume or in your LinkedIn profile. Fastest way to get looked over and rejected outright.

I will pass you over without a thought. Woke nonsense does zero for productivity. In fact, that social justice nonsense brings nothing but problems to the workplace. Employers don't want those issues.

Keep your social views to yourself and leave it out of your email signature as well.

The tide has turned and that's a really good thing for America.

T is a scarlet letter on a resume unless going for entry level positions.

No you're not. Outside of AT&T, nobody cares.

Completely false. A smart future hiring manager does not focus on the company you came from. A hiring manager is concerned with the transferable skills you bring to the new company and how it benefits them. Put AT&T all over your resume it will not hurt you.

If you really wanted, you could put the Baby Bell as the employer until the remerge, which would be technically correct. Most of the people in my area still think fondly of our Baby Bell.

Unfortunately this is true. Bad enough being in your 40s but hiring managers will wonder why you stuck around such incompetence and malaise for so long.
